Team News

Hi Swimmers!
GUESS WHICH USMS TEAM IS HOSTING ITS 1ST MASTERS' SWIM MEET ON JULY 22ND? ENSWORTH AQUATICS MASTERS!  Yes...it's true... we are... :)  As of today, our meet is officially sanctioned, so it's a go!  I will be sending e-mail updates soon to provide more information. However, please set aside the afternoon of Saturday, June 22nd, to either compete or volunteer.  I hope to have everyone on our team participate in some way.  And, it gets even better...we are planning a team social that evening after the meet!  Yea!  More details soon...
Lots of important items in this newsletter, so please take a few minutes to read...
Summer Practice Information
GOOD NEWS!!!  Our practice schedule will barely change at all this summer.  Beginning on Memorial Day, all masters' practices will remain at the same times, except for Monday's later practice, usually from 8:15-9:30am, but now changed to 7:15-8:30am.  The other happy news for many of you is that we should have plenty of lanes for swimming at each practice! Additionally, as is already happening, the pool length will switch back and forth a bit from 25 yards to 50m as it is now longcourse season!
NOTE: Tuesday evening practices will continue to be offered, but there will not alway be a coach on deck. If not, the workout will be on the board, and you will still able to use the open lanes with the lifeguard there "coaching" you.

Events Results
  • 2019 Dickson Endurance and Iron Nugget Triathlons, May 11th - Awesome results for all 3 ENSW athletes who competed in these events last weekend! For the Endurance race, Joana Riddick won the women's overall prize and Andy Patton won the men's overall award. In the sprint triathlon, Marshall Martin dominated the men's overall race. So impressive! Congrats, teammates!

  • 2019 NAC Masters LC Summer Solstice, May 11th.  This event was the first longcourse (50 meter) meet of the season, and we had 3 swimmers enter and compete (Laura Ladd, Patrick Harris (in his 1st LC meet in 7 years!), and Tyler Michael (in his 2nd swim meet ever!)), and Walt Lenard and I made up the ENSW cheering section!  All 3 swimmers cranked out some great times in their races, plus we all had fun hanging out and chatting with the other swimmers in the stands at the Sportsplex.  Great job, swimmers.

  • 2019 USMS SCY Spring National Championships,  Mesa, AZ, April 25-28thThree ENSW swimmers (Christina Twist, Dave Turner, and me) headed out to Arizona a number of weeks ago for an wonderful experience.  The sunshine and warm weather were great, and we did a lot of schmoozing with old and new swimmer friends. Despite temps of 100 degrees on the pool deck, all 3 of us swam well and even brought home a number of medals.  Special congrats to Dave for racing in his first swim meet in 7 years!
