WELCOME MESSAGE

Dear community:
Summer is right around the corner and many of you are probably busy making plans for some R&R with family or just time away from the screen. There’s been a lot of shocking news lately and it’s easy to feel that that we are alone in processing the emotional response we have to current events. We need love-filled social connections more than ever before. I’d like to offer you a summer challenge – each time you disconnect from the screen (ahem, doomscrolling), reach out to a loved one you haven’t talked or written to in a long time to just say hi and share a good belly laugh or even a healthy cry. We can each do our little part to connect with people and rebuild a sense of connection and belonging. Please feel free to share your experience with us via Twitter @StanfordOCE or Instagram @stanford_oce ! Wishing you a wonderful summer.
In community,
Wei-ting Chen, Associate Director of Community Partnerships

Watch (4:19:40) here
The board of supervisors will reconvene in August to discuss plans to protect the community against future gun violence.
