International Student Awards Ceremony & Graduation Celebration (Please share widely!)

May 11th | Kimmel Center for University Life, Rosenthal Pavilion

Congratulations to this year's graduates! We invite graduating NYU international students, their families, and friends to attend this year's Awards Ceremony and Graduation Celebration. Enjoy a hot breakfast buffet to live jazz and great city views. Tickets go live May 2nd at 10 AM ET. At the celebration we'll also reveal the winners of the International Student Support Initiative Awards, including the International Student Leaadership Award, the International Student Solidarity Award for NYU Students and the International Student Solidarity Award for NYU Professionals. We hope to meet you there!

Key OGS Priorities for International Students This Month

If students are planning to graduate in the Fall 2023 semester and have fewer than a full-time course load remaining to graduate, we are encouraging them to learn more about the requirements to register for a reduced course load, directing them to our register part-time web page for further information.
Ensuring students' travel signature on their I-20/DS-2019 is up to date before traveling over the summer
If a student is undergraduate and graduating in May, they must have OPT (for F-1 students) or AT (for J-1 students) if they intend to work on campus after May 16. Only undergraduate students can work after May 16 as a regular student employee but the work must be directly related to their major. If the student is a graduate student and has questions, we encourage them to contact us regarding their ability to work as an employee at NYU after their graduation.
If a student is moving from one degree program to another (such as Bachelors to Masters), they are required to obtain a new, updated I-20.
We continue to send our Journey to NYU emails to all international students who have program start dates between May 15 and July 15, 2023. Follow along with the emails these students are receiving at our Journey to NYU web page.
