30,000+ students are learning impactful new lessons on STEM, financial literacy, resiliency strategies, the Everglades, and more—all thanks to their teachers' participation in hands-on workshops at October's Idea EXPO. With tools like AI technology and SpheroBolt robots, these workshops empower teachers to bring fresh, innovative strategies back to their classrooms.
Students' successes are made possible by Idea EXPO's premier sponsor, Suncoast Credit Union, and key supporters Assurant, Florida Power & Light, and the Lynn & Louis Wolfson II Family Foundation.

The Education Fund is thrilled to announce that we have a new staff member at The Education Fund.
Linda Barrocas, the incoming Vice President of Development, brings a wealth of expertise in grant writing, development, events, and marketing. Her most recent role was Vice President of Development at Junior Achievement of Greater Miami. Linda’s passion for supporting our public schools is longstanding, even harkening back to her children’s elementary school days when she served as PTA President at David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center.
Linda Barrocas will be working with Mimi Pink, our current VP of Development, who will be retiring on June 30, 2025.
For years, Mimi Pink has been the engine fueling our development efforts. We thank Mimi Pink, whose commitment to The Education Fund is allowing a long runway up to her retirement. We also give our gratitude to two donors, The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation at The Miami Foundation and Peacock Foundation, Inc., whose grants are allowing us to have a much needed transition period for the knowledge transfer. These two donors are also helping us to meet our 40th Anniversary goal of significantly increasing our support for our public schools students.
It’s full steam ahead as we set the stage for new milestones and even greater impacts. We hope you will join us in welcoming Linda Barrocas to our team as we celebrate 40th years of helping public school students learn, grow and thrive in Miami-Dade County.
