Boot Camp 2019

The first week of Boot Camp is done at the prisons where the dogs have been taught. Then the following week they head out into the community to work on a partnership in the real world. Boot Camp this month took Quinn, Robbie, and Jet (pictured in that order) shopping. We are looking forward to their official graduation in October and November.
As you can tell, even our dogs know their favorite aisle!

Monthly Dog Update- Country

This is Country! I visited Sgt. Gregory's house this month and did so well! I was so excited to meet the family and my namesake. Also, I got to go to the movies with my puppy parent. It was hard to concentrate with so much delicious popcorn around me, but I settled down. I have been perfecting my service dog skills, like turning on a light switch, "come closer," and bracing for a person. Guess what? We welcomed two new golden retriever puppies to the team! It was so fun to have some mini-me's to play with. I am showing them the ropes!
From Country's Handlers
“Being part of Country's life and journey has given me back hope. Through his unconditional love and affection he has reminded me of a side I thought I lost. He has helped me see how broken I was and has started to make me feel whole again. Country is destined to help heal, feel loved, and save someone's life. I'm blessed to have this opportunity, because of Country and NLK9s, to make amends in this world.....” - J.P

Watch us on AnimalZone

Last week, New Life K9s was featured on AnimalZone!
The one-hour special included other stories about animal rescue, adoption, tips for taking care of your pets, and celebrities interviews.
If you missed it, check it out here.

New Partnership

In case you have not heard, we are now partnered with 3 state prisons! We recently began another prison-dog program with Pleasant Valley State Prison. Inmate handlers drastically reduce costs and allow us to place more dogs, ultimately saving more lives.

Inmate Artwork on Display

What could be better than art, dogs, and coffee? There is new artwork on display at Top Dog Coffee Bar! The proceeds support training service dogs as part of the Inmate Artists Save Lives initiative.
Wag n' Whiskers Festival 2019

Come say hello at Wags n' Whiskers, the largest pet adoption and animal festival on the Central Coast! The free, family-friendly event features dozens of wonderful exhibitors, including 25+ animal shelters and rescue groups with amazing dogs, cats, bunnies, birds and reptiles for adoption.
National Service Dog Month
