Welcome Weekend 2025, August 15–17 |
Welcome Weekend is a vibrant celebration of community, connection, and Cavalier pride. The fun begins on Friday, Aug. 15, with move-in, student and commuter check-ins, and Holy Mass for the Feast of the Assumption. Families are invited to a special Welcome Reception and President’s Toast. Students will take part in Matriculation, floor meetings, and the annual class photo before ending the evening with games and music at Friday Night Lights. Saturday kicks off with prayer and breakfast, followed by Service Saturday, where students give back to the Stark County community. The afternoon features Cavalier Connection tours with important campus resources and concludes with the “You Have It! WU Wants It!” game (and prizes) and the high-energy WU Soundwave foam party and inflatables on the GLC Quad. On Sunday, the day starts with Holy Hour and Adoration, Mass, brunch, and Intramural Showcase. The weekend closes with evening Mass and a relaxing Sunday Social at the gazebo, offering new and returning Cavaliers the perfect mix of reflection, fun, and fellowship as they begin the new academic year. | View Schedule

Kathie Gray, President and Co-Founder of Not For Sale: One Step At A Time and Executive Administrative Assistant in the Vice President for Academic Affairs Office at Walsh University, recently appeared on New Day Cleveland on Fox 8 to highlight the upcoming Community Freedom Summit. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Walsh University’s Cecchini Center, beginning at 9 a.m., and aims to raise awareness and inspire local action to combat human trafficking. This year’s keynote speaker is Tony Talbott, Director of Advocacy at the University of Dayton Human Rights Center, who will speak on “Reducing the Demand: How to Help Disrupt Human Trafficking.” The summit will conclude with a silent one mile walk to honor those whose voices have been silenced by trafficking. It was truly enlightening to hear from global scholars and emerging researchers as they shared their insights and innovations in artificial intelligence across a wide range of disciplines.
