This week’s Fiercely Forward Friday spotlight is John DesJardins, Hambright Distinguished Professor in Engineering Leadership and interim director of the Robert H. Brooks Sports Science Institute, who connects innovation in athletics with Clemson’s leadership in research. DesJardins and his team identified a critical gap in helmet safety: how face masks affect performance. After more than 10,000 tests, they developed new technologies, patented methods and scalable testing techniques to improve player protection and advance industry standards.
