1 Peter 4:10-11
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
New International Version (NIV)
A few questions:  What gift do you want for Christmas?  What will you do with it?  Do you have any gifts that you have never used?

Good news:  God loves to give good gifts to his children.  Better news:  God’s good gifts may be used to do good.  Best news:  God comes with his gifts to empower their use.

Peter called upon the early Christians to put their gifts to work.  Speakers confidently speak God’s words.  Servants serve Christ himself by serving others.  When do we plan to use our gifts for God?  There is no time like the present!

Pray with me:
Father, thank you for the gifts you give.  Most of all thank you for coming with your gifts.  Everything you give us better with you.  Bless your people we pray!  In Jesus’ name.  Amen!
This year our Every Day with Jesus readings will follow The Bible Project Read Scripture Plan.  Copies of this reading plan are available at Tallowood Baptist Church, or download
the app at readscripture.org.  Read through the Bible with us in 2019!
Joyfully,
