Acts 20: 17 - 21
17 From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called for the elders of the church. 18 And when they had come to him, he said to them: “You know, from the first day that I came to Asia, in what manner I always lived among you, 19 serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears and trials which happened to me by the plotting of the Jews; 20 how I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house, 21 testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

New International Version (NIV)
Integrity has been defined as who you are when nobody is looking. In our day, somebody is always watching, often recording the actions of others on their phones. What do people know about us?

The elders from Ephesus had a front row seat to Paul's life and teachings. What did they know about him? Paul served humbly, ministered compassionately, taught truthfully, and preached boldly. His message called all of his hearers to repentance and faith. Paul practiced what he preached and showed the elders how to live with integrity.
Randy Alcorn tells of an American cemetery in Cairo where missionary William Borden is buried. The epitaph reads, "It is impossible to account for such a life apart from Jesus Christ." Jesus was the only explanation for his life.  Let's live that way today!

Pray with me:
Father, you have searched us and you know us. Nothing is hidden from you. Grant that we may live with transparency and integrity today. Let Christ be the only explanation for our lives. Make us ready to give the reason for the hope within us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Our Monday through Friday devotionals will start in the book of Acts this year.  We will not hurry through the book.  We want to see what the Holy Spirit did in the early church so that we may discern what he is doing in us and through us.  Join us for these devotionals as we learn together about our King and his Kingdom in the world.

We also invite you to join us as we read through the Bible. Copies of the reading plan are available at Tallowood Baptist Church, or download your copy here:
