We are overjoyed as we witness the ongoing release of hostages after nearly 500 days in captivity. Among those freed over the weekend was Keith Siegal, whose wife, Aviva, has been a passionate advocate in the fight to bring all hostages home. Aviva, who was herself kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on October 7th, has worked relentlessly since her release in late 2024 to support those still held. We await with bated breath the safe return of every remaining hostage, and we continue to condemn the inhumane treatment these innocent civilians endured at the hands of their captors, up until the moment of their release.

A Crisis: Antisemitism on College Campuses
A recent ADL and Hillel International survey found that more than 83% of Jewish students on college campuses have experienced or witnessed antisemitism since October 7, 2023. In their message on the results, our partners at the ADL and Hillel rightfully noted that, “universities must act decisively. They must speak out against antisemitism and ensure their campuses are safe for Jewish students.”

Federation is proud to support a new three-part series, developed and co-produced by Federation's Community Shaliach, Avi E., that does just this! The first session is tomorrow, Wednesday, February 5th at B’nai Israel Congregation, and will focus on combating antisemitism in high schools, colleges, and other educational institutions.
