Dear Traveler:

Though it won’t be official for a few more weeks, I’m going to let you in on a little secret: summer is here! The sun is out, the days are long and warm, there’s a distinct splashing sound in the general direction of Sliding Rock and the white squirrels are rumored to be trying out the season’s newest swimsuits.

This time of year it feels like everything is happening, which is both awesome and daunting if you’re trying to schedule a little me time to chillax, stick your feet in the water and summer it up over in DuPont State Recreational Forest. But no worries! We can point you toward some highlights as you try to get a handle on the many amazing things to do this time of year in Transylvania County. So, clear your calendar, point your compass in our direction and don’t forget the sunscreen. It’s going to be an amazing summer.

Onward to July!
