Dear Traveler:

Greetings from Brevard and Transylvania County! You’re looking at the very first edition of a wonderful new monthly spinoff to our popular Adventurist Newsletter. We call it “Field Notes.” The idea is to focus on newsworthy topics in a little more detail than we have room for in The Adventurist.
And what could be more newsworthy than the roll-out of our new brand logo for Brevard and Transylvania County and our new visitor website! You’ll see all the details below.
Updating an iconic brand
“Land of Waterfalls” has been used to describe our little corner of the world since the early 1900’s. It’s an evocative description of a magical place populated with more than 250 cascades. In the early 2000’s a logo was created to celebrate our name and it’s been in constant use since then.

Today, we’re updating our brand identity based on market research, feedback from visitors and local tourism partners. The goal is to focus our brand on a specific place that identifies the very heart of the “Land of Waterfalls.” Through this process, we’ve also made the “Land of Waterfalls” name more specific to North Carolina.

So here it is:
We’re excited to share this new logo with you, which identifies Brevard as the entry point for your adventures in Transylvania County and “North Carolina’s Land of Waterfalls.” We hope you like the change.

We’re equally as excited to share the link to our newest visitor website. Now, instead of going to visitwaterfalls.com, you can go to explorebrevard.com to discover everything there is to know about our oh-so-inviting mountain destination: attractions, events, activities, accommodations, restaurants and a bevy of fascinating tips to help you make the most of your vacation. We invite you to take a test drive and begin discovering all there is to see and do in Brevard, Transylvania County and…“North Carolina’s Land of Waterfalls.”
