Funding Opportunities: Department of Energy: Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF)
|
The DOE CSGF provides outstanding benefits and opportunities for doctoral students in various fields that use high-performance computing to solve complex problems in science and engineering. Renewable up to four years, the fellowship also seeks candidates researching applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, computer engineering or computational science advances that contribute to more effective use of emerging high-performance systems. Please join the Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF) staff as we host an informational application webinar at 1:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, December 3. This 90-minute-max Zoom session (register here) will provide an overview of the program and guidance for applying, and it will serve as a forum to ask related questions in a live Q&A format. A recording will also be made available via the fellowship website.

Apply 2025 Chih Foundation Doctoral Awards
|
The Chih Foundation Doctoral Awards recognizes Georgia Tech PhD students whose research demonstrates innovation and invention for the betterment of society. Awards include $4,000 for 1st place, $3,000 for 2nd place, and $2,000 for 3rd place. The competition is open to current PhD students (U.S. or international) in the College of Engineering, College of Computing, or College of Sciences who have not yet completed their doctorate and have at least one peer-reviewed publication. Applicants must submit their materials via InfoReady, including a PDF presentation slide (which can be updated if selected for the research showcase). Wellness Opportunities: Coping with Social and Political Stress

Being a college student can be an intense and demanding journey, and this experience can become even more challenging with changes in the larger society. Whether it be elections and political turmoil, wars, social strife, or economic instability, national and world events can leave students feeling confused and unsure about the present and the future. This uncertainty can affect academic performance and well-being and sometimes lead to mental health concerns. The Center for Mental Health Care and Resources has resources to cope with these stressors.

As part of the ImagiNATION Festival, this event brings together art, mental health, and community in a relaxing outdoor setting. All supplies and drinks are free, just bring your creativity! This event is open to all, with space for up to 50 participants (First come first serve)! Come paint, sip, and celebrate the connection between art and mental wellness! Georgia Tech men’s and women’s basketball seasons are tipping off this week—and all games are free for students with a BuzzCard! Catch Men’s Basketball vs. Maryland Eastern Shore tonight at 7:30 p.m., Women’s Basketball vs. Radford on Thursday at 10 a.m., and Men’s Basketball vs. Bryant on Friday at 7:30 p.m. This season, Tech is also launching a Basketball Student Attendance Challenge! Students who attend the most men’s and women’s games will win end-of-season prizes, including a $1,000 gift card, Atlanta Hawks tickets, Adidas basketball shoes, and signed jerseys from Coaches Stoudamire and Blair.
