2024 Commencement Celebration |
Walsh University proudly hosted its 61st Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 4, conferring degrees to 599 students, representing 28 states and 9 countries. A morning ceremony was held for graduates of the DeVille School of Business and the School of Behavioral & Health Sciences, while graduates of the Byers School of Nursing and the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education walked across the stage in the afternoon. An honorary doctorate of business was presented to Walsh’s first registered student and cherished benefactor, Bill Rambo ‘64. Read his story here.

Summer Holy Mass Schedule
|
Summer Holy Mass will be offered for the Walsh community Monday-Friday in the St. Teresa of Calcutta Chapel in the Toot Global Learning Center at 11 a.m. There will be no Sunday Masses at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help chapel until 11 a.m., Sunday, August 18, when our regular Holy Mass schedule resumes. The Blessed Sacrament will not be reserved in the OLPH Chapel over the summer.
Please note: Holy Mass will not be offered during the month of June, nor on the following dates: May 9, 28-31, July 17-21
Please also note that there will be no Adoration or Confessions during the half hour before Masses this summer. If anyone wishes to arrange for a Confession, please email University Chaplain Father Albert Trudel, O.P., or call 330.490.7051

DeVille School of Business Students Present Marketing Strategies to Better Serve Community |
|
|
DeVille School of Business Students in Marketing Research courses have worked with the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program of United Way of Greater Stark County for the past nine years. In addition to Walsh Accounting students completing tax preparation for VITA clients, Marketing Research students completed data analysis work and proposed marketing strategies to VITA administrators to better serve the Greater Stark County community.

The Marketing Research class also had a guest speaker from Sanctuary Digital Marketing Group, Griffey Girty, a Digital Marketing Strategist, who is a two-time Walsh graduate, 2019 and 2021. He shared life and career insights with the class.

|
The Women's Lacrosse team won their 4th G-MAC Championship in a row this weekend. They defeated the University of Findlay Oilers in an exciting come from behind win, winning 12-11. Head Coach Erin Backinoff was named Co-Coach of the Year, Mallory Miller was Defensive Player of the Year, and Katie Mendenhall was Co Goalkeeper of the Year in the All-Conference awards.
The Baseball program clinched the 5th seed in the G-MAC Tournament and will compete the 8th-11th in the conference championships in Mason, Ohio.
The Track and Field program had a successful weekend at the G-MAC Championship meet, hosted by Hillsdale College. Highlighting the weekend for Walsh was Dominic Nutter and Claire Rethman capturing conference titles. Nutter won the Hammer Throw and is currently ranked #1 in the country in the event. Rethman won the 1500m with a time of 4:26.36
