REMINDER ABOUT FORM I-20/DS-2019 PROCESSING TIMES:
Standard processing time to receive your Form I-20/DS-2019 once you have successfully submitted a complete NEW ADMIT request in iPortal is 15 business days*. Please note that due to the high volume of requests we are currently receiving, processing time may be slightly delayed. Rest assured that we are processing requests as quickly as possible in the order in which they were received.
Please refrain from asking for a status update on your Form I-20 or DS-2019 request unless you qualify for one of the verifiable expedite reasons. Requests for status updates contribute to delays in issuing documents. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this busy time.
*SEVIS Transfer students: If you are transferring your Form I-20 to UC San Diego, note that ISEO cannot issue your updated UC San Diego Form I-20 until we have received your NEW ADMIT request in iPortal and your SEVIS record has been released to us by your previous school.

Lived Name vs. Legal Name at UC San Diego |
| Did You Know?
UC San Diego allows students to indicate a lived name (including first, middle, and last), which will be used in all university systems where legal name is not specifically required.
This is in accordance with the University of California’s Gender Recognition and Lived Name policy. This means that the name you see in iPortal (where you request your Form I-20 or DS-2019) displays your lived name as you entered it on your Admissions application, not your legal name. In addition to iPortal, other places that will display your lived name include the Virtual Advising Center (VAC), WebReg, on class rosters, on Student Campus ID cards, grade entry systems, Find-a-student, Academic History, campus reports, EASy, Canvas, and more. In other words, you will see your lived name, not your legal name, almost everywhere.
For more information on Lived Name and how to enter or change your lived name in university systems, visit UC San Diego's Lived Name for Students webpage.
Note: Your Form I-20 or DS-2019 will be issued using your Legal Name as shown on your passport.
