Call for OFD Officers

P&I is seeking “officers” to work with OFD to support the goals and core values of the office. Officers will work on a specific programming initiative or content area and will enhance representation and diversity of the OFD across the divisions and career pathways of the department.  Faculty at all ranks and in all tracks are eligible to serve as OFD officers.  This is an excellent opportunity for leadership experience and to get involved in the Department.  If you are interested in serving in one of these positions (see submission form for complete details), please notify Carey-Ann Burnham by December 22, 2021 using this submission form including a brief statement describing your interest in and goals for the position.

NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy

Becker Library's Data Management and Sharing Services is now hosting informational sessions covering the upcoming NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy.
The NIH will implement a new Data Management and Sharing (DMS) policy January 25, 2023. The policy will require researchers to submit and implement a Data Management and Sharing (DMS) plan with all grant submissions on or after that date.

Minor Feeling: An Asian American Reckoning

As the daughter of Korean immigrants, Cathy Park Hong grew up steeped in shame, suspicion, and melancholy. She would later understand that these "minor feelings" occur when American optimism contradicts your own reality—when you believe the lies you're told about your own racial identity.

Hong uses her own story as a portal into a deeper examination of racial consciousness in America today. This book traces her relationship to the English language, to shame and depression, to poetry and artmaking, and to family and female friendship in a search to both uncover and speak the truth.
