Dear colleagues,
We are just under a month away from fall semester. There is much to look forward to this upcoming academic year, like our August 21 fall assembly, the launch of our strategic plan in September, and the first installment of my new Dean's Distinguished Speaker Series taking place in October, just to name a few.
I hope you are enjoying your summer and I look forward to seeing you back on campus very soon.
Warmly,
Frankie Santos Laanan
Dean

Chis Linder, Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership & Policy and Director of the McCluskey Center for Violence Prevention, wrote an opinionated article on the new Title IX regulations and how they've affected different states, as well as their effect on students and faculty around the world.

Adding to the confusing picture, the newest regulations—set to take effect Aug. 1—have been temporarily blocked in 14 states, and a recent Supreme Court ruling calls the future of Title IX rules, any Title IX rules, into serious question."
