Madison Myers, Associate Professsor at Montana State University and Hannah Shamloo, Assistant Professor at Central Washington University, are visiting professors working with MCSS fellow Mike Krawczynski, conducting experiments in his lab to learn new techniques for doing gas mixing experiments in their own labs to simulate planetary melting conditions. They presented a joint colloquium in EEPS this week. Shamloo's talk was titled "Timing is everything: Pre-eruptive magmatic processes and timescales for Mount Baker volcanism, Cascades USA. Myers's talk was titled, "Improving our ability to extract decompression pathways using melt embayments."
