| Lux Choir in Concert at Christ Church: Join members of Lux, an award-winning chamber ensemble founded and directed by former Christ Church chorister Robby Napoli, for a concert entitled Music of Love and Loss. Tuesday Evenings in Lent: This Lent, we invite you to join us for fellowship and formation on Tuesdays, March 17 and 24. Following a simple supper at 6:30 p.m. in the C. Boyden Gray Auditorium, attendees participate in one of three distinct opportunities for learning. At the conclusion of the evening, all gather in the Church to recite the brief office of Compline.
Tolkien and Christianity: The Christian Heart of The Lord of the Rings: J.R.R. Tolkien is best known as the author of The Lord of the Rings; less well-known is his abiding Christian faith, which lies at the heart of the book he once called “a fundamentally religious and Catholic work.” Join Father Andrew Stump for the final two sessions of a five-part exploration of the Christian ethic of faith and redemption embedded within Tolkien’s mythology that has given his work its enduring power and legacy. Adult Baptism, Confirmation, and Reception Course: We all come to Christ Church having walked different journeys. If you have not been baptized and would like to be, or if you have been baptized, but not confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church, this five-week-long course, led by the Rector, will provide an opportunity for you to take the next step in faith. Reconciliation and Spiritual Healing: The current Sunday morning short courses will continue on Sundays, March 15 and 29, at 10:15 a.m., in Keith Hall. Sessions will explore the need for and nature of spiritual healing, particularly as practiced through forgiveness, the sacrament of confession, and spiritual disciplines in daily life. The schedule is:

Easter Flowers:If you would like to make a contribution to help offset the cost of the flowers that will adorn the Church this Easter please use the envelopes in the pews or follow this link. Contributions may be made in memory of, or in thanksgiving for, loved ones. If your dedication does not fit in the memo section of the online form, please email Tonika Hilliard in the church office. In order for your memorial / thanksgiving to be included in service leaflets on Easter Day, it must reach the Parish Office by Friday, March 20, at 12:00 noon.
Introducing the New Archbishop of Canterbury: On Sunday, March 22, at 1:00 p.m., parishioners and members of the wider community are invited to the C. Boyden Gray Auditorium for a presentation by the Reverend Mark Michael, Editor in Chief of The Living Church magazine, who will speak about the background and vision of Archbishop Sarah Mullally, the first female Archbishop of Canterbury, who began her ministry in January and who will be solemnly enthroned during a service at Canterbury Cathedral on March 25. Archbishop Sarah is the 106th person to hold the office, which dates back to the sixth century. She serves as the Church of England’s primate, or senior bishop, and spiritual leader of the global Anglican Communion. A light lunch will be served. The cost is $10.00 per person. Women’s Eastertide Retreat: Get away for a spiritually nourishing weekend with the women of Christ Church in a 19th-century farmhouse at Fox Haven Organic Farm in Jefferson, MD. Handmade quilts and an open hearth welcome you into a cozy space for connecting, reflecting, playing and praying with other women from the parish. Our curated program will include reflecting on our life with God in this season, foraging for and making your own herbal tea, eating well, and laughing much. Mission Trip to Kenya: Consider stretching your worldview and experience of service beyond our borders! Sponsored by the Centre for Urban Mission, an educational outreach of the Anglican Church in Africa, this immersion experience is designed to open participants’ eyes to human experience in a context radically different than their own and to develop their capacity to respond strategically. Participants will worship, serve, and eat alongside Kenyan Christian partners, sharing in the joyful communion of saints and learning from each other along the way. | Parish Forum: The 2025-2026 series, Living Liturgy, will continue on Sunday, March 15, at 10:15 a.m., in the C. Boyden Gray Auditorium, with a presentation by the Reverend Dr. Frank Wade: The Liturgy of Palm Sunday: Why palm branches? Coronation processions, unexpected reversals, and our participation in the story of God’s kingdom come.
Choral Evensong: The next service of Choral Evensong will take place on Sunday, March 15, at 5:00 p.m. The liturgy will include plainsong, as well as choral works by Thomas Morley, William Mundy, and Thomas P. Smith. Evensong will continue on the first, third, and fifth Sundays of the month through May. A reception follows each service. Christ Church is one of a handful of parishes in the U.S. to offer this beautiful, quintessentially Anglican liturgy with such frequency. Do plan to join us… and bring a friend.
Centering Prayer in Lent: Are you looking for a way to experience the presence of God amidst the busyness of daily life this Lent? Then consider participating in a weekly, community-led time of centering prayer and Lectio Divina on Tuesdays, from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m., via Zoom. Drawn from the monastic tradition, these practices offer an intentional way for individuals to make themselves available to God, acknowledging that “we do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us.” To join the video call, click here. Thursday Morning Bible Study: This semester, participants in the Thursday Morning Bible Study are exploring the Revelation to Saint John, an ancient book filled with vivid descriptions and startling imagery – one that shows us God’s world as it truly is. Sessions will take place on Thursdays, March 19, April 2, 16, and 30, and May 14, at 8:00 a.m., in Keith Hall. A Zoom option is available. Women’s Bible Study: Join the women of Christ Church as they seek to meet Jesus in the pages of the Gospel according to Saint Matthew. This semester, participants are exploring Christ’s fulfillment of Isaiah’s Messianic prophecies, his inauguration of a kingdom that upends human expectations of greatness, and his calls for participation in that kingdom’s way of life. Sessions will take place on Mondays, March 23, April 13 and 27, and May 11, at 6:00 p.m., in the Memorial Room. A Zoom option is available. New participants and guests are welcome. Thrift Shop Update: The Christ Church Thrift Shop, located on the Lower Level of Linthicum Hall, is open on Wednesdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and on the fourth Sunday of each month in conjunction with the parish Feast (10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.) Donations are currently being accepted on Wednesdays during the Thrift Shop’s normal hours of operation or by appointment via the Parish Office. Contributions of gently-used clothing and costume jewelry are needed at this time.
