Dear Highland Medical Patient,

If you have recently traveled to an area inside or outside the U.S. with known COVID-19, have reason to believe you may have been exposed to the virus or have a fever or cough, shortness of breath and congestion, please call 1-866-550-HMPC PRIOR to arriving at any Highland Medical office for direction on how to proceed. We appreciate your help in reducing the spread of COVID-19.
How is COVID-19 Spread?
COVID-19 is spread by respiratory droplets from coughs or sneezes. The best way to prevent COVID-19 is to stay away from people you know are sick or who are under investigation for the virus.
What can I do to prevent COVID-19?
Don’t panic! Take the following precautions:
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; if soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
- Limit your attendance at large gatherings
- Stay home from work or school when sick
- Cover your mouth and nose when coughing /sneezing
It is important to remember that those at greatest risk for serious illness are the elderly and those with preexisting medical conditions. The majority of individuals who contract the virus are expected to experience symptoms similar to the cold and flu and are able to recover fully at home.
Always stay home from work or school when feeling sick—this can help stop the spread of contagious illnesses that pose a greater risk to those with compromised immune systems.
