Dear Friends,
The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital has experienced some changes in personnel within our zoological medicine service that will impact our ability to see clients in the coming months. We are working diligently with our college to appropriately staff the service to provide excellent patient and client care. We remain deeply committed to this mission as well as to our focus on advancing the future of the profession.
In July and August, we will be reducing available appointments in our zoo medicine service and limiting emergency cases. Starting September 1, 2019, we will be unable to see new and existing clients as well as emergency cases. We suggest that clients work to transfer their animal’s care to other providers, as we will not be able to refill medications or assist with care until the service has re-opened. Our goal is to re-launch the zoological medicine service by January 1, 2020.
We have spoken with our local and regional veterinary partners, who do provide services similar to ours. We have appreciated their outpouring of support. Below is a list of local and regional generalists and specialists with expertise in exotic and zoological medicine.
Sincerely,
