Graduates from the George Mason University College of Public Health are thriving, with 91% of undergraduates and 85% of graduate students reporting positive career outcomes in 2023. This marks a significant increase from the previous year, with undergraduate outcomes rising by nearly 5%.

A heartfelt congratulations to Carolyn A. Taylor for receiving the College of Public Health Distinguished Alumni Award.
Taylor, a dedicated health care leader and passionate educator, has been a pillar of the George Mason community for decades. With four George Mason degrees, including her PhD, and a legacy of service through the Carolyn A. Taylor Scholarship Endowment, she continues to impact the next generation of public health leaders.
Taylor is a long-standing member of the College Advisory Board and the proudest Patriot you will ever meet. We are so proud to have her on our team, shaping the future of healthcare and public health.

24/7 Canvas support is available through the “Help” link in Canvas.
Walk-in ITS support on the Fairfax Campus is located in Innovation Hall 226, and is available Monday - Thursday, 8:30 am - 7:00 pm and Friday 8:30 am- 4:00 pm.
In the College of Public Health, Matt and Rene may now be reached through a new office number: 703-993-1428. Use this number to report issues with CPH conference rooms and classrooms (2500, 2405, 2409, and the labs).
Matt and Rene are generally available Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. You can also submit a ticket online or send an email for assistance.

The Leadership Center of Arlington 2024 Racial Equity Summit will convene thought leaders from around Virginia to discuss how we can ensure everyone has an opportunity to be healthy.
Experts with backgrounds in policy, community programs, and the maternal health crisis will share how they work toward equity in Virginia every day. Presenters will address the state of Virginia's health, social drivers of health, best practices in wellness, and how they impact the future.

Conflict to Conversation: Introducing Verbal Aikido for CPH Faculty and Staff |

Learn about the practice of Verbal Aikido® in this introductory session hosted by Sarah Atif, University Ombuds Office. Verbal Aikido® is an effective and peaceful means to deal with verbal attacks and negativity. VA practice aims at creating a safe space to gradually engage in conflict, to understand conflict dynamics and look at the constructive side of conflict.

HAP pulls ahead of OSA this week as HAP’s Naren Durbha returns as top individual walker.
|

Participants may walk anywhere, anytime, within the weekly time frames, counting their steps, and then report their CPH unit affiliation along with the steps they’ve walked.
At the end of the semester, the unit with the most steps (proportionally) will be awarded a prize and take the trophy! Report your steps by noon on the Monday after each Monday-through-Sunday challenge week.
Report October 21 - October 27 steps by 12:00 pm TODAY, October 28.
