AI is Changing Early Detection—But Should You Trust It? |
| Many people are wondering if a machine can help detect cancer before a doctor can.
AI is changing early detection in powerful ways—but it also raises important questions about trust, equity, and access.
...Someone in the U.S. hears the words "You have cancer".
And here is another thing most people don't realize: You have the power to save your own life as early detection starts with you—the small change you almost ignore. The feeling that something’s “off.” The moment you decide to pay attention—and act.
That’s where earlier detection—and better outcomes—begin. Everyone should have a plan for that moment.
3 Steps Detect® gives you one—so you can Know Your Great Health, recognize changes sooner, and take action with confidence.
Because catching cancer early isn’t luck. It’s knowing what to do next.

DetecTogether Awarded DCU for Kids Grant to Expand Young Adult Impact |
We’re proud to share that DetecTogether has once again been awarded a DCU for Kids grant to advance our efforts to teach young people how to understand their role in their health care— recognize changes in their health, know when medical evaluation is needed, and communicate in ways that accelerate timely diagnosis.
Building on the momentum of past support, this funding will expand our 3 Steps Detect® program into more classrooms across Worcester County, MA, reaching students at a critical moment when lifelong health habits are formed and equipping them with skills they can use again and again throughout their lives.
It will also fuel our growing young adult social media engagement—meeting students where they are and giving them health skills to last a lifetime. Because with rising cancer rates in young adults, early detection isn’t something that should start later in life.
Thanks to DCU for Kids, more young people will have that empowerment.

DetecTogether is proud to receive funding from the San Diego Hologic Foundation to bring 3 Steps Detect® to more young people across Middlesex and Worcester Counties.
This initiative focuses on high school and college students age 15-22, an age group often overlooked in cancer conversations — yet increasingly impacted by early-onset cancers.
This funding aims to elevate breast cancer health awareness, emphasize the significance of self-exams and screenings, and impart crucial 3 Steps Detect® early cancer detection skills.
Thank you San Diego Hologic Foundation, together, we’re equipping young adults with something most have never been taught— how to activate their own health care

Young Advocates Leading the Way in Early Detection |
| DetecTogether Advocate of the Month: Rekha
When Rekha was just five years old, her dad was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer. For years, she watched him fight through treatments, including two bone marrow transplants. Those experiences shaped her and inspired her to take action.
Now a senior at Westborough, MA High School and President of Rangers for a Cure, Rekha is making a difference for families facing similar challenges.
Rekha helped bring DetecTogether into freshman health classes, collaborating with faculty, administrators, and her peers to teach students about early cancer detection and the importance of advocating for themselves.
Rekha's leadership and compassion are already changing lives—Congratulations! And thank you for inspiring the next generation to take charge of their health.

Team DetecTogether | 2026 Boston Marathon |
| Because helping people catch cancer earlier changes the story, and that's worth 26.2 mies.
That’s why Team DetecTogether is heading back to the 2026 Boston Marathon.
For Liam Malanaphy, last year’s race showed him how strongly people connect with DetecTogether’s mission. What inspired him most is that DetecTogether doesn’t just raise awareness; they equip people with the skills to recognize changes in their bodies and act sooner.
He’s running again because he strongly believes in DetecTogether’s movement to help more people take that step from awareness to action.
