Be sure to join us for Christmas Eve Services!
December 23, 2015
There will be only ONE Service this Sunday, December 27th.  We will all come together to worship as one family at 10:00 am. Please note: There will be nursery, but no Sunday School on this day.
There are TWO opportunities to join in Christmas reflection, carols, communion and candlelight on Christmas Eve; the first at 4:00 pm and again at 6:00 pm Nursery will be provided for both services. Don't miss this!
Sunday, January THIRD, we will resume our regular worship schedule of 8:30 and 10:45 Worship Services with Sunday School for all ages at 9:45 am.  Adult Choir will begin a new year of rehearsals at 6:00 pm on January 10th - we would love for YOU to join us in 2016.  And, join us for Wednesday night dinners and programs which will resume on January 13th.
In 2015, our leadership team focused on our FOUR core values: to Welcome, Grow, Serve and Celebrate so that we could become a conduit for God to work miracles!  Are more people involved in small groups now? CHECK!  Have our lay leaders stayed committed to growing in faith? CHECK!  Have we developed stronger social connections through having more celebrations?  CHECK!  Well done, Parkway Hills family.  Perhaps it is time to set even higher goals for 2016?
Did you know that our beautiful church campus extends hospitality to community groups FIVE days a week? (Sometimes 7!) Thank our Trustees for a wonderful job this year of overseeing projects such as column repair, painting, and additional exterior lighting to keep our grounds safe and welcoming for all.
We need SIX men, women, or youth, (age 16 and over), to usher at each worship service.  Please volunteer for a month (or two) of service at either 8:30 am or 10:45 am by clicking here.  New usher training is coming soon.  Help us in 2016 by serving to attend and assist our pastor, members, visitors and all guests who come to worship at Parkway Hills UMC.
As we pause to celebrate the birth of Jesus, we look back and celebrate the birth of SEVEN new babies in our Parkway Hills family in 2015!  Jeremy Scott Taylor Jr. is our newest addition. Charlotte and Jeremy's son was born just last Wednesday!  Also, as a church, we will be blessed to witness another high and holy moment this week when Mike and Heather's son, Casey Daniel Nabors, will be baptized. Join us this Sunday at our single worship service, 10:00 am.
We have EIGHT amazing confirmands studying, questioning, retreating, and meeting with their EIGHT mentors to explore what it means to be part of the Body of Christ.  Please pray for these young people as they consider making their own decision to follow Jesus!
In addition to the all the families for whom we have provided beds through MadCAAP this year, NINE more sets of Bunk Beds, built and fully dressed, have been delivered to French Camp this month!  18 more children have a safe and comfortable place to have a good night's rest.  What a wonderful ministry!
For TEN years in a row, we have supported 22 Honduran school children.  Each scholarship of $120.ºº pays for school supplies, required uniforms, shoes and other necessities for the entire school year. (February through November.)  Tomorrow night's Christmas Eve Communion Offering will fund these scholarships.  Please give generously.
Through the benevolence of this congregation, ELEVEN organizations have directly benefitted from our monthly communion offerings and from the giving of our time and talent.  We have supported The Young People's Delegation to South Korea, The MS Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Methodist Senior Services, Heifer International, Africa University, Michelle Shrader, Stop Hunger Now, The Methodist Children's Home, Second Chance MS, East Flora Elementary School, (this includes our Back Pack Ministry, the Seasonal Book and Craft preschool class, and the new Clothing Closet), and MadCAAP, (including our Bunk Bed Ministry, Summer Reading Program, food drives, and Christmas gifts for 32 children and their families).
TWELVE noon on December 31st is the last moment to deliver your year-end contributions to the church office and have them credited to your 2015 giving. (Or, if you mail a check, be sure it has a December 31st postmark.) Thank you for your financial support of our work and ministry.  Help us finish the year strong!
