Remote Learning - November 16-20

Students can access remote learning on their devices via Zoom. To access classrooms, students should use their @govalor.com email address with the "Sign In with SSO" button in the Zoom app. These sign in instructions will help students access Zoom. If you have any questions or need assistance, please email helpdesk@valorchristian.com.

Thanksgiving Break - November 23-27

Enjoy a break from school for the week of November 23-27 to celebrate Thanksgiving with your family. We anticipate returning to in-person classes on Monday, November 30 with a normal schedule.

Spirit of Sharing Week - November 30-December 4

During this week, the Student Leadership Board will lead efforts to gather household items like coats, gloves, blankets, sleeping bags, etc to give away to people who may need them as we go into winter. Watch for more details to come about specific donation items and partner organizations that will distribute the items to people in need.

Campus Announcements

2021-22 First Round Admissions Deadline

If you have a rising freshman or know someone who wants to apply to Valor for the 2021-22 school year, please take note of the First Round Admission Deadline of December 11. Once you submit your application, you can sign up for a family interview, admissions testing (November 17 & 21) and request transcripts and references. All admissions items must be completed by December 11. We want to ensure priority is given to our current families, so please start your application as soon as possible.

Eagle's Nest - Shop Online!

While the campus spirit store is temporarily closed during remote learning, you can still shop online. Starting November 27, you can buy one, get one half off of all Eagle’s Nest headwear. Don’t miss out on some great Valor stocking stuffers!

Discovery Applications Close Wednesday

Applications for all Discovery local, national and international teams close Wednesday, November 18. Teams will be selected and announced on December 4.
Parents, you can watch the videos from Discovery Night to learn more about individual experiences and Discovery’s overall plan for service in 2021. 
You can also submit experience-specific or general questions to the Discovery team. 

Medical Professionals Needed for Discovery Experience

Discovery is looking for parents in the Valor community who work in the medical field to potentially partner on summer's Mexico Medical team. Do you love the Lord and love high school students? We might have a spot for you on this team! Please contact Terry Adams if interested.

College Day Series Recap

If you missed our "College Day" series, you can watch video presentations here with our Academic and College Counselors and College Reps from across the country. Topics include college admissions in a Covid world, affording college, how to find the best college fit, and exploring Christian colleges.

Valor Parents Bless Community

In the midst of a unique sports season, reaching into the community with a bit of kindness and support goes a long way. The entire Valor Varsity Football Team pitched in to buy cookies and roses to bless their rival. Moms of Valor players made cards, bought roses, and delivered cookies to the moms of seniors on the Thunder Ridge Varsity Football Team who had to quarantine and forfeit their final two games of the season.  The Valor moms from left to right are: Andrea Forsythe '22, Leigh Hunter '21, Amy Maikkula '20, '22 & '24, and Wendy Hale '18 & '22 (not pictured).

Valor Business Network Meeting - November 18

This VBN Zoom meeting will feature guest speaker Brock Huard. A Valor parent, Brock has spent time as an NFL quarterback and Fox Sports Broadcaster and will speak to the group on the topic of unity. Valor parent Scott Cowperthwaite will also provide tips for professional Zoom and virtual meetings.

Staff Appreciation Cookie Party - December 4

Each year, Valor parents provide an assortment of homemade and store bought cookies for staff and faculty to choose from. We are in need of contributions of cookies and other various supplies! You can sign up to donate or contact Cherie Carlile (VPA Staff Appreciation Lead) with questions. Thank you for your willingness to bless our incredible teachers and staff!
