Over the next few weeks, InDepth will feature a student paired with a faculty/staff member. Brebeuf hopes you will learn even more about the special, life-long bonds between students and faculty and staff created in Brebeuf's unique learning environment. Enjoy!

#BrebeufApprecation Student and Faculty/Staff Spotlight

Adi Poulsen '16 and Mrs. Amber Lamkin, Assistant Director for Admissions
What do you love most about Brebeuf?
Adi: I love how comfortable the students and faculty make you feel. For example, I’m constantly saying hi to new kids in the hallway and I’m never afraid to speak up in class if I don’t understand something.
Mrs. Lamkin: I love how supportive a community it is - supportive in that when people are there for you in rough times and the celebrations.
What is something most people do not know about you?
Adi: Something people don’t know about me is that both my parents are only children so I have no aunts, uncles or cousins.
Mrs. Lamkin: I have an unrealistic fear of car washes.
If you were to describe Mrs. Lamkin to someone who has never met her, what would you say?
Adi: If I were to describe Mrs. Lamkin to someone who has never met her, I would say that her office door is open all the time for whatever you may need. She’s always there for a laugh or just simply someone to talk to. She’s a special part of Brebeuf and one of the reasons my experience here has been so memorable.
If you were to describe Adi to someone who has never met her, what would you say?
Mrs. Lamkin: I would tell them that Adi is authentic and doesn’t allow others to change her. She exudes confidence and isn’t afraid to go against the grain. Even coming in as a transfer, she quickly became a leader both on the cheerleading team and in the school. Adi has so much integrity and she is wise beyond her years. Her sweet, honest and caring approach is felt by all she comes into contact with.

Monthly #BrebeufDrives for April and May

Thanks again to everyone in the Brebeuf Jesuit community for the overwhelming contributions to the Brebeuf Food Drive. This is great momentum as Brebeuf transitions back into the monthly #BrebeufDrives.
This past February, we donated 119 coats, 112 hats, 64 pairs of gloves, 51 scarves, and 12 handmade knitted baby blankets to the Crisis Office. Prior to receiving these donations, the Crisis Office had almost completely run out of winter clothing - so the donations were very much needed.
Beginning Friday, April 15, Brebeuf Jesuit will be collecting sunscreen, bug spray, granola bars and new or gently used drawstring bags to help the families served by the Crisis Office prepare for Summer. Please bring donations to either the Main Lobby or the Gym Lobby and place items in the #BrebeufDrives collection boxes.

She is hosting the 5K Superhero Stomp on Saturday, April 23 at The Orchard School. Brebeuf Jesuit's Peers Against Cancer Together Club (PACT) will also be accepting donations in the cafeteria during periods 3, 4, 5, 5, and PRTs during that time from Monday, April 18 until Friday, April 22
