Dear FGIM Family,
We wanted to update you on our status and what the Lord has been doing during this difficult time for our family. As of November, our family is still in the United States, as the U.S. Embassy has prevented us from returning to Haiti due to my status as a military service member. Most of you know that my second missionary field is in the United States Air Force, where I serve Airmen and their families as a chaplain.
Our family was supposed to return to Haiti on September 30th, but could not since the situation in Port-au-Prince continues to escalate daily. We desperately want to return back to serve our community, our church, and our extended family at Faith House, but we sense the Lord is telling us to wait for now. As we have been wrestling with this realization, we are finding comfort in Romans 15:17-22, where Paul is speaking about how the Holy Spirit delayed him from going back to the believers in Rome because of another missionary field where Christ has not yet been named. As the culture in the United States becomes more secular, so does the next generation. We do not know what the Lord has in store for us while we are here, but we trust that in His sovereignty, we might continue to proclaim the gospel to those who do not yet know Jesus. We continue to lead our Haitian team from the States and have been amazed by their leadership in our absence. It is always the goal of every missionary to see those whom you have been discipling grow and lead. We are witnessing that occurring in our community as we write this update.
While we are going through this season in our ministry, we are asking that you continue to lift us up in your prayers.
In Christ,
The St Louis Family

Faith House Orphanage UpdateWe praise God that the girls are safe and have food. Currently, schools nationwide are not yet open due to the civil unrest. This has prevented our students from attending classes.
Below are pictures of all the wonderful donations from people who generously gave to Faith House. In August the girls received new backpacks, school supplies, shoes, and blankets with their names embroidered on them. The girls were so excited and thankful for all the blessings they received from donors. The girls continue to attend church on Sunday mornings and, whenever possible, they attend youth activities.
CURRENT NEED: Due to lack of power from the city and not being able to get fuel for the generator, the orphanage has power for only a few hours during the day and none at night. We never know when we will have access to power or fuel. This uncertainty is a major issue, so we have been making plans to purchase solar panels for Faith House so the girls can have power in the evening and lights for security. The solar panels and equipment will be transferable to the new Faith House once it is built.
Cost for Solar Panels & Equipment
(1)Victron Inverter= $2,600.00
(8)s-550 Batteries=$3,200.00 ($400 per Battery)
(1)Victron CC=$932.45
(12)Solar Panels=$3,600.00 ($300 per Solar Panel)
Wiring=$300.00
Mounting=$500.00
Total $11,132.45
If you can help us with this need, please donate by clicking on the GIVE button below.

Construction with ChaseWe are currently raising support for the children's home that will be on the property. It will be approximately 6,200 square feet and has space to house all of the girls, plus additional children as needed. It will have space for tutoring, counseling with local social workers/child psychologists, and an office for the Orphanage Director. The cost of the project will be around $160,000.
We are currently putting a 3D drawing of the building together and should have it available soon for everyone to see. So far we have raised 30 percent for the building and plan to start once we are able to return safely to Haiti.
A dump truck was purchased this summer by a donor and we plan to pack it with construction and orphanage supplies soon so that we can ship it to Haiti either in November or December. Having the dump truck will save the ministry on construction costs for each building. We are thankful to have it and ask everyone to pray it makes it to Jacmel without issues.
A maintenance building was completed in the beginning of the year. This building is a multipurpose facility that allows us to do vehicle maintenance, facility maintenance, store tools and equipment, and is the current location for children's church and entrepreneurial training. In the future it will house the water tanks and generators for the campus, And there is a possibility that it could also be used for church offices.
If you are interested in donating items for the orphanage or would like updates about our construction projects, please email Chase at barbreyc@gmail.com.
We are continuing with our fundraising campaign. If you feel led to become a monthly financial partner with just $50 per month or want to give a legacy gift of $1,000 or more, you can do so now by clicking below. You can choose the gift designation "Property Building Fund" on the website.
Thank you and God bless you!

Update from the Church...As the summer came to a close, our church has been busy with ministry events, Bible studies, and witnessing in the community. In September things took a turn for the worse in Haiti with many protests and road blocks. The church has been able to continue its Sunday morning services and has evening services when they are able to. People are faithfully coming to gather in worship, and the church has been a big encouragement to the community. This is a very hard time for our church members and your prayers are greatly appreciated. The relief effort funds given by you, our faithful financial partners, provided food for many families in our church who were in need, and they were so grateful to receive it. While the availability of supplies change daily we were able to find some bulk supplies and purchase as much as we could to supply the relief effort. The church leaders have played a vital role in helping distribute food to those in the community.

Update from our SchoolThe students were dressed and ready to start school on September 9, but due to civil unrest and protesting to major issues with the government, school was not able to start until September 11. It only stayed in session for a few days, and since then, most schools in Haiti have closed. School can reopen once the Ministry of Education in Haiti gives approval. The kids are eager to be back in class, and though we are unsure of exact dates, we hope to open at the start of the new year.
If you would like to donate specifically toward our school program, please click on the link below to help advance our vision to educate, equip, and empower the future generation of Haiti. We have several students from the community who are in need of financial support to fund their education.
By donating $30 a month, you can help meet a significant need. Your gift will change lives for years to come. If you feel led to support, you can do that by clicking on the link below and designating your gift to the school program. Thank you and God bless you!
