Student Achievement Success

Citizenship Coordinator Catherine McCall, with LVCA student Rutch and his tutor Bob; Executive Director Ellen M. Osborne and Program Manager Steven Reid; Mike and his student Judith.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our student achievement ceremony a success! It was so wonderful to have this event in person again finally, and we were so grateful to celebrate our students with over 65 people in attendance.
During the ceremony, State Delegate Sally Hudson presented LVCA with House Resolution 465, a state commendation in honor of our 40th anniversary. Just as importantly, we got to celebrate the achievements of 76 students, some in multiple categories, who met significant milestones in their studies, including those who completed an educational program, those who passed their United States citizenship interview, and those who completed more than 100 instructional hours during the year.
We especially want to thank our presenting sponsor, Bank of the James, and our supporting sponsor, InBio. We greatly appreciate their generosity in helping make this ceremony possible.

LVCA in the Community

Literacy Volunteers certainly had a busy October. Our biggest highlight was our student achievement ceremony, but we also spent plenty of time out in the community. Here are a few highlights:
