July Fourth Naturalization at Monticello

We know of at least two LVCA students who will take their oath of allegiance at Monticello's July Fourth Naturalization Ceremony.
This year's event will include:
  • Keynote Speaker: Piedmont Virginia Community College president Frank Friedman will speak to new citizens from around the world
  • Music from the Charlottesville Band and Charlottesville Opera.
    Free walk-through tours of Monticello's first floor from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • After the ceremony, enjoy free root beer floats and kid's activities on the West Lawn.
Parking will be available at Piedmont Virginia Community College, and shuttles to Monticello will run throughout the morning. You can click on the link below to reserve your spot on a shuttle.
Can't make the event in person? Monticello will live-stream the ceremony on Facebook, their website, and YouTube.
The Literacy Volunteers office is closed on Monday, July 4th, in honor of the holiday.
