October 27, 2021

Welcome      Grow       Serve      Celebrate

We hope all our children K-6th grade can join us for the two practice times.  Parents are asked to stay and aid with the practice.  We look forward to worshipping with our kids Sunday, November 14.

We are excited and counting on all our church family to join us for our Trick or Treat Trail!
Feel free to wear your costumes.  Remember all donations are to be in the Kitchen by noon Sunday.

Join us at tonight's Brown Bag Dinner beginning at 5:45. Bring your chair and dinner; drinks and desserts will be provided, and a nursery will be available. After dinner, we will have age group activities. If it rains, we'll meet in the Garden Multipurpose Room

Bow Making Party!
If you are free and can make bows or are willing to learn, join us above the worship center Thursday, November 4th at 1:00, so we can get all our wreaths ready for the Advent season.

PHUMC celebrated newlyweds Geoff and Elizabeth Davidson

with a surprise brunch on Sunday morning.

Just a  Reminder:

What your giving allows us to do.

We are able to help in a small way those who come through our doors looking for a bit of grace in their need. Your gifts make a difference in our community. This week we presented one of the trim carpenters who worked on the new youth kitchen and quilting closet with a Prayer Quilt for his invalid mother. Also we delivered snacks, knitted scarves and hats to the Baptist Cancer Center for patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Throughout October, we have reminded ourselves of the original vision of Parkway Hills; offering a fresh expression of God’s love through worship, service, study, and fellowship.  Parkway Hills lived into this by being a safe space for those who have never experienced church, creating a space that felt like “home,” and committing to be a place for everyone.  This Sunday we will look at one more step in this journey, our continued call to live this out by being a people of faith shaped by the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ.

Consecration Sunday is almost here. I hope you are praying over how you feel called to support the mission and ministry of Parkway Hills in 2022.  If you did not receive a pledge card in the mail, you may fill out your pledge on our website. We ask that you return your pledge card by Sunday, November 7. With only 15 remaining payments left on our mortgage, we commit to living out the original dreams of Parkway Hills.  Let us finish strong and stay strong by remembering why we started in the first place!

For those who are out of town, or any who still feel safer-at-home, we continue to livestream our service on Facebook at 10:45 am, and post the service on our YouTube channel by 1:00 pm.

Safety Update: A Note from Pastor Dawn

We continue to cautiously move forward and keep an eye on the Covid cases.  Here is our most recent recommendation after consulting medical professionals in our church and conferring with the Leadership Team.
Masks will continue to be worn inside regardless of vaccination status.  In worship, once seated, if you are fully vaccinated and feel you are sufficiently separated from other households, your mask may be removed.  We ask, however, that you wear your mask during congregational singing as singing causes more risk.  Everyone not fully vaccinated or working closely with children under 12 inside the building, must wear a mask.

Remember: Youth are singing in Worship November 7. We will have practice this  Sunday night, immediately following Trick or Treat Trails.
