Dear AU Community,
We are excited to share a mid-semester update on campus dining, reflecting our ongoing commitment to student feedback and continuous dining improvements.
Fundraising Success from Family Weekend: Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent Celebrity Chef Series during Family Weekend! Your support helped us raise more than $600 for The Market, our campus food pantry, and more than 2,300 swipes for Eagles Helping Eagles.
Freshens Reopening and East Campus Market Schedule Changes: Based on your feedback, and the input of our Dining Advisory Board, Freshens will reopen the week of November 10. Days of operation and venue hours for both Freshens and East Campus Market will be Tuesday through Saturday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., replacing the previous Sunday – Thursday schedule. The Freshens menu will launch with a mix of favorites from their daytime menu and the late-night Cravetown menu, including smoothies, acai bowls, crunchadillas, soft tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches, and quesadillas.
Improved East Campus Market Offerings: East Campus Market has added new fresh-item bundles, featuring fruits or vegetables paired with residence hall-friendly accompaniments like pasta, crackers, hummus, yogurt, and more. The venue also features a self-serve waffle station and more avoiding-gluten options.
Bender Concessions Grand Opening: The upgraded concession stand, along with new sideline service carts, will debut at AU’s basketball and wrestling team home openers in early November! Fans can expect improved food and beverage options, as well as themed game day meals and specials in the Terrace Dining Room. Go Eagles!
Other Enhancements: Based on your feedback, we’ve added chicken tender happy hours at TDR and True Burger, and a fry seasoning station at True Burger. We’ve also worked with our brand partners to bring crispy chicken back to the Halal Shack meal exchange menu.

Feedback can be submitted by email at mealplans@american.edu or by speaking with a supervisor at any of our venues. Now through October 31, we also invite you to complete our annual Voice to Vision survey, which helps inform our long-term planning efforts for the campus dining experience.
