Canvas is now the default classroom learning management system for all courses, and users are no longer able to create new course sites in Sakai. Instructors of record listed in DukeHub are automatically added to their corresponding Canvas sites.

Come and work in person on your Canvas sites, and our teaching consultants will be available in the room to help answer your questions as you work. If you have a question about using Canvas (e.g. “How do I send an announcement to my class?”), try Canvas’ 24/7 support. Within 5 minutes you will be connected with a live Canvas representative via chat or phone. The Canvas Instructor Guide is also an incredibly thorough resource.

In Canvas, combining sections of a course is called “cross-listing.” Watch the short video to the left to see how easy it is to do, and then check out our Using Canvas documentation for a link to instructions and some basic tips.

NEW: LIBRARY COURSE RESERVES
|
|
|
|
The Course Reserves tool is available to select departments at Duke this Fall. Faculty and staff in the Graduate, Nicholas, Pratt, Sanford, Divinity, and Trinity schools can find, share, and request library materials for their students – all from within Duke Canvas.
|
|
|
If you were unable to attend the August 8 Town Hall, the recording is now available. The Canvas Project Team described the current status of the transition to Canvas at Duke, and reviewed instructors' options for learning and support, and introduced a new resource on the Canvas at Duke website: available Canvas learning tools.
