Welcome      Grow       Serve      Celebrate

October has ended and this means the holiday season is about to be in full swing.  It is easy to jump to Christmas without pausing to give thanks but we don't want to miss the chance to engage in the spiritual practice of giving thanks.  Sometimes finding joy comes when we take the time to remember and lift up all the gifts we do have instead of focusing on what we don't. The past two years have been heavy, so let us join together in worship through the month of November in gratitude for all the ways God meets us in our days.

November 7: Give thanks for the Saints who have gone before
November 14: Give thanks for new life
November 21: Give thanks for the gifts of creation
All leading up to our Thanksgiving Dinner, November 21 @ 5:30.  We provide the Turkey and Dressing, you bring the sides and dessert.

RSVP here for Thanksgiving Dinner; required by noon Wed., Nov. 17.

Don't forget that time changes Saturday Night back to Standard Time!

We hope all our children K-6th grade can join us for the two practice times.  Parents are asked to stay and aid with the practice.  We look forward to worshipping with our kids Sunday, November 14.
Bow Making Party!
If you are free and can make bows or are willing to learn, join us above the worship center Thursday, November 4th at 1:00, so we can get all our wreaths ready for the Advent season.

Consecration Sunday is almost here. I hope you are praying over how you feel called to support the mission and ministry of Parkway Hills in 2022.  If you did not receive a pledge card in the mail, you may fill out your pledge on our website. We ask that you return your pledge card by Sunday, November 7. With only 14 remaining payments left on our mortgage, we commit to living out the original dreams of Parkway Hills.  Let us finish strong and stay strong by remembering why we started in the first place!
For those who are out of town, or any who still feel safer-at-home, we continue to livestream our service on Facebook at 10:45 am, and post the service on our YouTube channel by 1:00 pm.
Safety Update: A Note from Pastor Dawn
We continue to cautiously move forward and keep an eye on the Covid cases.  Here is our most recent recommendation after consulting medical professionals in our church and conferring with the Leadership Team.
Masks will continue to be worn inside regardless of vaccination status.  In worship, once seated, if you are fully vaccinated and feel you are sufficiently separated from other households, your mask may be removed.  We ask, however, that you wear your mask during congregational singing as singing causes more risk.  Everyone not fully vaccinated or working closely with children under 12 inside the building, must wear a mask.
Covid-19 disrupted our worship patterns, stretched us to think of new ways to engage as a community of faith and challenged us to take more responsibility for our own spiritual development.  We still aren't back to where we were, and things moving forward will always be just a bit different, and that is okay.  While some things change, our call as disciples remains the same: Love God, Love Neighbor.  We want to help you and your family make time for God in the midst of the craziness of Advent and Christmas.

We challenge our church family to commit to an Advent-at-home devotional so that we all may seek God during this special time within our faith story.  We will be using "Shadow and Light: A Journey into Advent" as our guide to plan worship, and we hope you will join us by reading along each day.  If you would like the church to order you a copy, please email the church office by Sunday, November 14.  You may pick up your books Sunday, November 21 at worship or the Thanksgiving Dinner.  Cost is $20 and you can pay via the app (Advent Book), in the office, or drop your payment in the offering basket.

Remember: Youth are singing in Worship November 7.
