Saturday, Dec. 3 | 4 - 6:30 p.m.
The Jolly Jamboree is this weekend! Reservations are now closed.
The Ranch House will be closed 12 -4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 to set up for the event. Doors will open again at 4 p.m. only to those registered for the event. Catered food will be available starting at 4:30 p.m.
Snow Removal
With winter here, we would like to remind the community about snow removal protocols in RVR. The streets and public bike paths throughout River Valley Ranch are maintained by the Town of Carbondale. For information about the Town of Carbondale Snow and Ice Control Guidelines, click here.

For those of you who live in The Settlement or Old Town, River Valley Ranch contracts with Aspen Grove to provide snow plowing services. Below are the thresholds that will trigger service in those neighborhoods:

  • Old Town—to be plowed at 2” of accumulation
  • Settlement—1/2” of snow triggers only north facing driveways to be plowed; 3/4” triggers all driveways in Settlement to be plowed.

For residents the Boundary, the Twenty Four and Crystal Bluffs, please contact your Board of Directors or property managers should you have any questions.

Reminders & Highlights

RVR Pond
We have received calls reporting children walking on the frozen retention pond in RVR. This type of activity is strictly prohibited and dangerous. Please stay safe and stay off the pond!

Green Tip
Please enjoy the following eco-friendly tidbit brought to you by Friends of the Environment:
During the holidays it seems we wash more clothes and dishes than usual. The colorful pods and new laundry cleaning sheets seem like good choices to eliminate buying large plastic bottles of detergent. But many of these types of products contain an ingredient called polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). PVA is in the plastic film coating for pods and contained in washer sheets. According to an article recently published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, PVA is designed to dissolve in water but does not readily biodegrade, which can allow it to get through wastewater treatment systems and discharged into the environment. Please take a minute to review your detergents and if they contain PVA, consider finding and using an alternative.
Golf Course Usage Updates
  • The Golf Course is officially closed for the season. Responsible winter traffic is now welcomed. Please keep off the greens and out of bunkers, pick up after your leashed dogs and no bikes on the course.
  • The sledding hill will be open for use as snow permits. Supervision for kids 12 and under, helmets are recommended. Sledding and use of the course walking areas are at your own risk.
Holiday Mail
During the busy holiday season we ask that you practice good postal etiquette and check your mailbox regularly. There is limited space in each box and with the holidays, many residents will be receiving catalogs, packages and other bulk mail. If your box is full, the post office may have to return your mail to the sender.
Remember that if you are heading out of town, you should put your USPS Mail Delivery on hold. You can do so on the USPS website here. Members can also sign up for informed delivery by USPS. This allows you to see photos of your mail prior to its arrival for free! Click here for more information.
If you are interested in unsubscribing to all the junk mail you receive, you can visit the DMAchoice website for more information on how you can control what goes in your mailbox.
Tom's Door Holiday Giving Program
Tom's Door and the Family Resource Center of the Roaring Fork Schools, in conjunction with RVR are again partnering for our annual holiday gift drive for Carbondale seniors and local families in need. Over the last six years, we have experienced a generous outpouring of contributions. We invite you to participate again in this year's program to share the magic of the holiday season.
If you wish to get involved, visit the RVR Ranch House and choose a key from the wreath on the festive red Tom's Christmas Door. Please complete the donor key tag with your contact information and place that tag in the door's mail slot. There are several gift card options including City Market, Target and Walmart. Our suggested donation is $50. We ask that you return the gift card(s) into the door's mail slot no later than Saturday, Dec. 10.
Additional information about Tom's Door and the Family Resource Center is available next to the red door if you are not familiar with these wonderful organizations and the outreach and positive impact they have in our community.
If you have any questions, please contact Sidney Poncelet at 970-309-2393 or sidponcelet@gmail.com.
We thank you in advance for your generosity.
