The Seton Hall College of Nursing Newsletter |
Dear College of Nursing Community,
I am proud to continue in my role as Interim Dean of the College of Nursing for the Fall 2025 semester. And I am particularly proud that, as you may have recently heard from the Provost, the College of Nursing will remain an independent college. This decision affirms the importance of maintaining our identity as the oldest baccalaureate program in the state and preserving our long-standing commitment to academic excellence.
As we move forward together, I am pleased to highlight accomplishments that reflect the strength and momentum of our College. Our B.S.N. students continue to excel, achieving NCLEX-RN pass rates well above national averages — a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff and clinical partners, and to the exceptional commitment of our learners.
| |
We are also experiencing continued enrollment growth across our undergraduate, A.B.S.N. and graduate programs. This expansion strengthens our community and affirms the trust that students place in our ability to prepare compassionate, practice-ready nurses and nurse leaders.
Looking ahead, we are deeply committed to supporting the University’s new strategic plan, with a particular focus on elevating the transformative student learning experience. From expanding simulation and clinical opportunities to integrating innovative, evidence-based teaching practices, we are reshaping how future nurses learn, lead and serve.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our mission. Your engagement and pride in the College inspire us daily. Together, we will continue advancing excellence in nursing education and improving the health of the communities we serve.
Warm regards this holiday season,
Kristi Stinson, PhD, RN, APN, PNAP
Interim Dean and Associate Professor

Continuing Education Programs

Seton Hall University’s Basic Health Assessment Refresher online course provides an opportunity for registered nurses to further develop and hone basic health assessment skills prior to beginning an advanced health assessment course. Students will learn how to complete a head-to-toe physical assessment in a systematic manner by demonstrating the skills and techniques on their mentor. Although you may complete this program at your own pace and time, you will have up to 5.5 weeks to complete the course to be awarded contact hours.
This six-hour course addresses the key concepts required to safely prescribe controlled substances that meet the requirements for Advanced Practice Nurses to be licensed to prescribe Controlled Substances in New Jersey. Designed for current nurse practitioners and nurse practitioner students. Course discount available for alumni!
Offered online, iTHIRST training seeks to provide a spiritual remedy to those with substance-abuse disorders through the development and implementation of programs designed to educate and prevent, to provide support to treatment facilities and those incarcerated, and to develop an aftercare community for the afflicted and their families.
