LETTER FROM THE VP FOR ACADEMIC LIFE
| |
Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, and Friends of De La Salle,
Yesterday I received a beautiful message from Mr. Mike Daniels, who is the Lasallian District of San Francisco New Orleans Office of Education Director. In it, he called our attention to this recent Lasallian Reflection:
“Our shared miracle stories remind us that ours is a living tradition that continues to call us into a courageous and creative future.”
As we celebrate the end of the 2020-21 school year, I cannot help but think of the communal miracle of courage, persistence, and creativity our students have shared. Thank you for joining us on this incredible and daunting journey. We are so grateful for the ways that our Lasallian mission and our faith have sustained us in this moment. ...Continue Reading

Dear De La Salle Families,
Well, another school year has come and gone. And yes, this was a difficult year for everyone but the good news is that we made it! I want to thank you for your support of our administration, faculty, and staff this year.
This is my last Spotlight letter that I will be writing. So, I wanted to leave you with the final prayer service I used on May 28th with our employees. The readings that I chose were the readings I used when I started here at De La Salle in 2007. The open and closing songs speak for themselves.
Enjoy and have a great summer!

With our Class of 2021 now graduated, De La Salle technology tool accounts: Schoology, PowerSchool, Google, et. al., will be disabled and deleted for the graduating seniors, effective July 1, 2021. We challenged the winds and celebrated our seniors with a 2021 Baccalaureate Mass on Friday, May 21, out on the football field. Surrounded by tall trees, rolling golden hills, and dancing clouds, it was a truly sacred moment. Congratulations Seniors!
Plans for 2021-22 are already in place. Here are the programs you can already sign up for:
- Early registration for the senior Kairos Retreats has begun. Register for Kairos now to make sure to get your spot early. Retreats do fill up quickly.
- Would you like to spend a very special weekend with your son, reflecting on your relationship, building a unique memory together? Campus Ministry offers our families opportunities through our Father/Son Retreat and our Parent/Son Retreat.
- For soon-to-be Juniors or Seniors, we offer Ven A Ver, Come and See. It is an opportunity to broadens one’s world view and deepen one’s faith in God, others, and one’s self through a lived experience. Ven A Ver is scripture-based. It is an opportunity to “walk in the shoes of the poor.”
The Campus Ministry Team wishes you all a wonderful and safe summer. See you next year!
