Hello 4-H Families,

Welcome to May! I hope everyone has been able to get outside and enjoy the nice weather. This is a perfect time to start working on your 4-H projects! If you plan to participate in the Dunn County Fair, please make sure to select your projects in 4-H Online soon. The fair will be pulling the information into their system shortly, and if you do not have your projects selected, you will not be able to participate.

Finally, on behalf of myself and the entire Dunn County Extension Team, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of Courtney and Michael Morrow, Raimi Rundle, and Ross Nelson. Courtney and Raimi were the leaders of the Willing Workers 4-H Club, and Courtney was also a leader in the horse project. Their love of 4-H and enthusiasm for helping all youth succeed was evident in everything they did. You can find information about memorial services on Olson Funeral Home website.

County T-Shirt Design Contest

Get ready to unleash your creativity! We're excited to announce our first Dunn County 4-H T-shirt Design Contest! This is your chance to showcase your artistic talents and create a unique design that represents the spirit of Dunn County 4-H. The winning design will be featured on our new Dunn County 4-H T-shirts for the year. Submissions are open until May 19th. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

4-H Softball

Volunteers are gearing up for another exciting summer of 4-H Softball! 4-H Softball is a great way to get to know youth from around the County. They games are very low pressure and always include a lot of laughs!

The Juniors (8-12 years old) will be playing on Sunday nights and Seniors (13 years old and up) will be playing on Tuesday nights. Check facebook, email, and the Clover Courier for a schedule with specific dates and times.

Northwest 4-H Golf Classic

The golf tournament is a great fundraiser for the county, but we need some help! We are looking for teams to participate, hole sponsors, and donation baskets. We will also be looking for adults and youth to volunteer during the event.

4-H Graduation

Members have the option to have their 4-H graduation recognized on the year they graduate high school, or the following year if they decide to continue with 4-H. If you are graduating from 4-H this year, please fill out the graduation form so you can be recognized at the awards ceremony. It is due by May 31st, 2025.

With the support of volunteers and community partners, the Dunn County 4-H program is able to prosper while empowering our youth to be strong and dedicated community leaders. We want to make sure to thank and recognize these amazing people. Take some time to fill out the nomination form to honor the adults that make Dunn County 4-H shine. Due May 31st, 2025.

Upcoming Events, Programs, and Activities

Summer Project Days Registration Open

Get ready for the 2025 Dunn County Summer Project Days! This year we will be featuring Farm to Fork: Agriculture Education, Miniature Gardens, Legos, and Nutrition and Healthly Cooking! The Project Days will be held each Tuesday from 2-4pm starting on June 17th and ending on July 8th. Youth in grades 3-6 are invited to attend. Older youth will have the opportunity to participate as Youth Leaders.

New this year, we will be offering special Cloverbud programing from 12:30-1:30pm before the Project Days! Register on 4-H Online.

Summer Project Days Registration

Cloverbud Stuffed Animal Show

Join us for our second annual Cloverbud Stuffed Animal Show at the Dunn County Fair! Cloverbuds will gain experience showing animals while showcasing their favorite stuffed animal.
The show will take place on Saturday, July 26th at the Dunn County Fair (time to be determined). The Small Animal Project will be holding an educational practice day on July 12th at 10am in the County Government Building. Attending the practice isn't required to show, but is highly recommended.
This is a Fun Show ran through 4-H, so it will not count as one of your three Cloverbud projects. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in participating.

Youth Activities Council - 5th Grade Kick Off!

The Youth Activities Council is hosting a meeting to welcome the 5th grade 4-H members to YAC. 5th graders are invited to come and check out the club. The meeting will be held May 27th at 6:30pm in the Dunn County Government Center in room 60. All 4-H members grade 5 and up are invited to attend!

County-Wide Meetings and Events

County-Wide Project meetings are open to any 4-H member who meets the age criteria. If you are unsure about adding a project area, these meetings are an excellent way to explore and learn more. Reach out to the extension office or project leaders for more information.

Projects can be added any time before May 1st in 4honline.com.

Small Animal Project

The April Small Animal Project has been rescheduled to May 13th at 6:30 in the Dunn County Government Center, room 60!

We hope to see you there so we can discuss and vote on the possibility of holding a small animal auction at the fair this year.

Support Opportunities

Trip Funding

The Dunn County Leaders Council is excited to help fund your 4-H trip or activity! The Leaders Council is committed to funding 25% of all state and national trips and activities. The Leaders Council may fund at greater amounts depending on the number of participants and budgetary allowances.

Youth Support Fund

The Youth Support Fund is largely supported by donations from community members and businesses. Its purpose is to reduce the cost barrier associated with 4-H events and activities. If you are planning to participate in a 4-H event and feel like you could benefit from this fund, reach out to the extension office at zachary.rozmiarek@wisc.edu for more information.
