Dr. Thomas Bashore Collection
The History of Medicine Collections has received a remarkable collection of historical medical instruments, artifacts, and ephemera from Dr. Thomas Bashore, Professor Emeritus of Medicine at Duke University.
Dr. Bashore collected a fascinating variety of historical medical items including electro-therapy devices, patent medicines, and much more, such as the Leech Jar featured here. The History of Medicine Collections greatly appreciates Dr. Bashore donating these engaging materials, and we look forward to sharing these items in exhibitions, instruction, and displays.
