Calling All Members Interested in Local and State Medical Leadership Opportunities

Do you have a passion for driving positive change in the medical community? Here's your chance to make a meaningful impact as we open the doors for nominations to our local and state leadership positions. We encourage all interested members to step forward and take part in shaping the future of healthcare at both the local and state levels. 

NAM Board of Directors
Nominations are now open for the NAM Board of Directors. This three- year term (January 2027 - December 2029) offers an opportunity to help guide the Academy's mission and strategic direction. The time commitment is minimal, just six evening meetings per year, each lasting two hours
2027 Delegate to the TMA
NAM Delegates will caucus in May before the annual TMA House of Delegates meeting, which takes place on April 17, 2027.
TMA Committee Members
TMA committees cover key areas like Public Health, CME, Membership, Insurance Issues, and Physician Wellness. While not all are open year-round, opportunities come up regularly.
Medical Student and Resident Caduceus Council
Applications are open for the next term of the Medical Student and Resident Caduceus Council. This group connects students and residents with NAM leadership and offers engagement experience in medical education, advocacy, and leadership. Click here to apply!

Partner Spotlight: Public Health Education Resources

As NAM's partner organization, the Medical Foundation of Nashville (MFN) equips physicians, patients, and community members with the knowledge and tools to tackle today's biggest public health challenges. Each quarter, MFN's Public Health Education hub spotlights key health observances happening that month, with plain-language info and links to trusted resources. 

This quarter's featured topics include Sarcoma Awareness Month, UV Safety Month, World Hepatitis Day, National Immunization Awareness Month, National Health Center Week, International Overdose Awareness Day, Suicide Prevention Month, National Recovery Month, and Food Safety Month, plus additional observances throughout the season.

Congratulations to the TMEF Medical School Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to the following students selected by the Tennessee Medical Education Fund, Inc. (TMEF) Board to receive financial support during the 2026 - 2027 school year! Fifty-four students statewide received scholarships totaling over $200,000 combined. The following Nashville students have been named recipients of their respective scholarships:
