Today's email provides helpful information about student services and resources to familiarize you with the wide variety of programs and services offered at the college.
Most student services offices, except as noted in the individual descriptions for Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, and Express Counseling, operate with the following hours:
First Week of the Semester (February 2-6) Hours
M-F @ 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. (In person & remote)
Regular (February 9 - May 22) Hours
M-Th @ 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. (In person & remote)
F @ 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Remote only)
Note: All offices closed Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

| | Admissions and Records
Admissions and Records (A&R) is available on the 1st floor of the Student Center and via a Virtual Front Counter.
Contact A&R for help with things like: name and address changes; admissions, certificate, and degree applications; petitions; residency requirements; and transcript requests.
Extended Online Hours (Except Holidays): T-Th @ 6–7 p.m.

Basic Needs Resource Center and Food Pantry
The Basic Needs Resource Center & Food Pantry assists students with their basic needs by providing support with food, diapers, and personal and household items. It also helps to connect students with community resources through a partnership with Pathways of Hope.

The Career Planning and Workforce Development Center is located in CCCPLX-215 near the EOPS office. Explore college majors and career pathways, develop your resume, and prepare for the workforce. Talk to a staff member or career counselor in person or online.

The Campus Bookstore is your one-stop shop for course textbooks (offering new, used, rental, and digital formats as available), logowear and branded merchandise, school supplies, and more.
The Campus Bookstore offers a Textbook Low Price Guarantee, price matching textbooks against Amazon and most competitors. Inquire at the Campus Bookstore located in Gateway Plaza next to the Student Center for more details.

The Charger Experience Program provides incoming first-time college students with a foundation for success by offering two years of free tuition; tailored, high-touch engagement with helpful services and resources; events and workshops to foster connection and camaraderie; and dedicated program counselors in a supportive space.
Visit the CEP Center on the 2nd floor of the Student Center next to the Transfer Center.

EOPS, CARE, CalWORKS, NextUp/Guardian Scholars, and Grads To Be
EOPS assists students with economic, linguistic, and educational challenges. CARE assists single parents on public assistance; CalWORKS provides help to students on TANF; Guardian Scholars supports current and former foster youth; and Grads To Be provides help and resources to undocumented students.
Visit the EOPS office in CCCPLX-210, or via the Virtual Front Counter.

Express Counseling is available on the 2nd floor of the Student Center and through the Virtual Front Desk where you can meet with counselors face-to-face through video conferencing. Express Counseling sessions are meant for quick questions and creating one-semester educational plans.

Financial Aid
The Financial Aid Office assists students with the financial aid application process and facilitates disbursements. Learn more about the various federal, state, and campus aid programs by consulting the financial aid question database or emailing the Financial Aid Office for assistance.

| | Start-of-Semester Guide Station
New to campus? Have a question and could use some quick and easy help? Just want some information to help you have a successful semester? Visit the Start-of-Semester Guide Station located near the campanile in Gateway Plaza. Friendly student ambassadors and staff are happy to help, so stop by!
Guide stations will be available the first week of the semester.

Student Health & Wellness Center
The Student Health & Wellness Center provides a number of services, including mental health counseling and telemedicine visits via the online Health Center Portal. It offers birth control consults, addresses minor urgent care issues, prescribes birth control and other medications as needed, and provides counseling for nicotine cessation as well as weight and nutrition.

Student Life and Leadership
Student Life and Leadership is home to student life programs and clubs. Get involved in shared governance via Associated Students, the student government organization on campus that advocates on behalf of the Cypress College study body and coordinates campus events and activities.

| | Transfer Center
The Transfer Center provides services to facilitate your preparation and transfer to a four-year institution, if that is your goal. Parcitipate in helpful workshops and talk to a Transfer Center staff member or counselor by visiting the center on the 2nd floor of the Student Center next to the CEP Center Center.

The Veterans Resource Center (VRC) provides assistance to active duty military servicemembers, veterans, and their dependents seeking to complete a degree or certificate. It also provides opportunities for peer-to-peer support for academics and wellness as well as camaraderie, mentoring, and social networking.

The Welcome Center is available on the 1st floor of the Student Center and is staffed with student ambassadors available to answer general questions, help you navigate myGateway and Canvas, assist with troubleshooting issues and concerns, and put you in touch with other individuals and offices for more specific questions and answers.

A²MEND, the African American Male Education Network and Development organization, supports the interest and success of African American students, faculty, staff, and administrators at California’s community colleges.

The APIDA Resource Center provides holistic and caring student support to all Cypress College students with a focus on helping Asian Pacific Islander Desi American students complete their educational goals while integrating their cultural identity into the process.

Honors Program
The Honors Program is designed to encourage talent and ability in highly motivated students as they prepare to transfer to a four-year institution. Students who complete the Honors Program and meet all major transfer requirements will have priority consideration for admission to specific four-year institutions.

The International Students Program (ISP) has welcomed students from more than 50+ countries, giving each student the opportunity to experience U.S. culture and its educational system in a properly supportive environment, setting a solid foundation for achieving their academic goals!

The Legacy Program provides students in a yearlong cohort with a strong academic program instructional resources, and motivational support that supports their transfer to four-year institutions. Bolstered by interactive activities that emphasize the African American experience in the United States, this program is geared specifically toward student populations who are underrepresented in higher academia.

Pride Center is a resource center and inclusive, respectful space for LGBTQ+ students and staff, as well as allies, to relax, build relationships, study, get support, and access resources. Most importantly, it’s a place to be yourself.
Pride offers a learning community where students have the opportunity to take multiple classes with a cohort of LGBTQ+ students and queer/ally instructors while meeting graduation and transfer requirements. Interested? Submit a Pride Learning Community application.

Puente Program & Center
Established in 1996 at Cypress College, the mission of the Puente Program is to increase the number of educationally disadvantaged students who enroll in four-year colleges and universities, earn college degrees, and return to the community as mentors and leaders to future generations. Puente is open to all students.

Rising Scholars strives to support formerly-incarcerated, system-impacted, and substance abuse recovery students so that they successfully achieve and exceed their goals through higher education. It aims to empower and uplift the generations of current and future students who seek an education on Cypress College’s campus.

MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement) is a free program at Cypress College designed to provide enriching experiences and foster a deeper appreciation for students in calculus-based majors. The goal is to help students succeed academically, prepare for transfer, and gain access to real-world STEM experiences.
