Dear Campus Community Members:
The New Paltz Presidential Search Committee has worked diligently over the past weeks to review candidate materials. We recently met virtually to conduct the final review of applications and to select a candidate group for initial virtual interviews. We used the rubric the committee established to evaluate each candidate in a consistent, fair, and balanced way. Throughout this process, the committee honored its commitment to select a diverse pool of candidates.
We are on track to conduct our confidential interviews in January, with the goal of having candidates meet with the campus community starting in February. As we have more information on the specific dates that we are targeting for the campus meetings, we will share those with you.
A search for a President requires a careful balance between transparency of the process and confidentiality, including individual candidates’ names. We thank you for understanding that the best candidates require confidentiality and that the committee members have all agreed to abide by this rule.
