As shared in the recent Board Affairs communication, our current strategic plan, Harvest Our Treasures, concludes later this fall. The University has begun the important work of developing our next strategic plan collaboratively with representation from all of our constituent groups. Approximately 70 members of the community gathered in September for a working group kick-off event, at which faculty, staff and administrators serving on these committees began to generate ideas of actions that will move the University forward. A Coordinating Committee, which includes members of the Faculty Senate Executive Board, representatives from the Cabinet, several deans, Student Government Association leaders and working group co-chairs will be charged with reviewing input and developing an initial implementation plan. Assistant Provost Leigh Onimus, Executive Vice President of Board Affairs Amy Newcombe and I met with the Student Government Association and other student leaders at Friday’s Impact Conference to hear their thoughts and ideas for positive change.
