CELEBRATIONS

Sport management program nets 3rd place finish at National Collegiate Sports Sales Championship


UMSL sport management students (from left) Tyriq Gordon, Andrew Price, Mason Clynes and Harmauhny Faulkner traveled to Atlanta to compete in the 2024 National Collegiate Sports Sales Championship. Clynes finished fifth individually in the speed sell competition and led UMSL to a third-place finish overall.

2024 Women Trailblazer Awards celebrate ‘women who advocate for all’ 

Established in 1995, the Women Trailblazer Awards honor UMSL women who have worked to forge new pathways for women and contributed significantly to the university and greater St. Louis community. Presented by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the annual awards are part of the university’s Women’s History Month programming.

Jon Velier graduates from Succeed Program, works toward goal of becoming Japanese translator

Jon Velier graduated from the Office of Inclusive Postsecondary Education’s Succeed Program, earning a Chancellor’s Certificate, and is now excelling in the Department of Language and Culture Studies’ Japanese program. Last year, he entered an English subtitling contest sponsored by Japan Visualmedia Translation Academy and won second place. 

UMSL formalizes partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri to support future students with scholarships

The university will provide $5,250 Margaret Bush Wilson Scholarships and wraparound support services to BBBSEMO students who enroll at UMSL beginning in the 2024-25 academic year.
