Making a Difference through Youth Day of Caring
Members of United Way of the Capital Region’s Bridges Society helped make a difference in our community during the recent 15th Annual Youth Day of Caring. Members rolled-up their sleeves and helped 200 local high school students with general clean-up, trash pick-up, weeding and mulching, and painting throughout City Island in Harrisburg
Juniors and seniors from the following 10 high schools participated: Camp Hill, Central Dauphin East, Commonwealth Charter Academy, Cumberland Valley, John Harris, Lower Dauphin, Middletown, Red Land, SciTech and Susquehanna Township.
“Thanks to our volunteers and sponsors, Youth Day of Caring was a success,” said Bridges Society Chair Angela Tatum, vice president, commercial relationship manager at Riverview Bank. “My student group taught me it’s possible to get all of your work done and still find time for selfies!”
Youth Day of Caring was sponsored by Members 1st Federal Credit Union (Lead Sponsor), Capital Blue (Lunch Sponsor), Harrisburg Kiwanis Youth Foundation (Tool Sponsor) and PSECU (Sponsor).
