Congratulations to each of our students who graduated last week! It is our college’s great privilege to celebrate the accomplishments of our 96 students earning their BSPH, 47 earning their MPH, 10 earning their M.S., 125 earning their DVM, and 8 earning their Ph.D.. Graduates, we are so very proud of your accomplishments and excited about the positive impact that you will have in your careers and communities as you enter your next chapter.

The Phi Kappa Phi Medallion award recipient, Kennedy distinguished herself not only through her outstanding academic achievements but also through her ability to integrate supporting the local community and an intense lacrosse sports team schedule.

| Reddy found her way to the veterinary college through science coursework during her high school and undergraduate years. "I love learning about these issues because I want to help the animals that they impact, not because I love soil biology or water chemistry or things like that," she said.

Marquis Harper DVM '24 alum specializing in the Food Animal track, was inspired by his rural upbringing and mentor Dr. Allen Cannedy to pursue veterinary medicine. Focused on large animal care, Harper is eager to champion increased representation and advocacy within the veterinary field.

Olalere Ajala MPH '24, hails from Lagos, Nigeria. Inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic, he pursued public health to balance healthcare with preventive measures and solutions. Olalere values the diverse insights at VMCVM and looks forward to the impact of the 'One Health' approach on public health. He cherishes cooking and the teachings of his mother, who instilled in him patience and kindness.

Jon Dance MPH '24 returned to higher education after a long absence, determined to conquer the factors that led him to substance use. He has done so, crediting the university and the Virginia Tech Recovery Community with his success.

| When Gena Clifton began to ponder her legacy, she thought immediately of the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center (EMC). After much discussion and thought about her legacy and the future needs of EMC, Clifton decided on a bequest to support emergency and critical care of foals and supportive research at the EMC.

Mentor of the Year
Sherrie Clark '92, DVM ’96, Blacksburg. A diplomate of the American College of Theriogenology, Dr. Clark is a professor of theriogenology and associate department head of large animal clinical sciences at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.
Veterinary Service Award
Cassie Wagner DVM '13, MPH '13, Richmond. Dr. Wagner serves as student services representative with the AVMA Trust. She previously served as director of alumni relations at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.
Distinguished Virginia Veterinarian
Melinda McCall DVM '04, Louisa. A large animal veterinarian, Dr. McCall owns Louisa Veterinary Service. She also volunteers her services to local vaccination clinics via the Louisa Community Animal Response Team and Louisa Police Department and serves on the board of directors of the Louisa County Agricultural Fair. Dr. McCall is a past president of the VVMA.
