Upcoming Award Deadlines by College

All or Multiple Disciplines 
Southern Education Foundation Fellowship- Deadline: MARCH 5! SELI provides highly motivated and diverse undergraduate juniors, seniors, and graduate students opportunities to develop as leaders, engage in their communities and learn about contemporary education issues through this leadership development effort.  Students spend the summer in trainings and working at an assigned leading nonprofit sector organization or school district.  During this experiential learning opportunity, they examine strategies for improving education, addressing community needs, and putting theory into practice. Fellows Receive: Experience: an opportunity to work for eight weeks (May 23- July 20, 2018) in an organization concerned with equity and excellence in education; Stipend: a living expense stipend of $4,500 (for undergraduate juniors or graduating seniors) or $5,000 (for graduate students who will have completed at least one term by June 1, 2018); Travel: all airfare/car mileage expenses associated with traveling to and from SEF trainings to summer placement site (assistance also provided by SEF in making travel arrangements).

William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students- Deadline: March 15! The Aspen Institute Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation (PSI) in Washington, DC offers the William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship to one student three times annually. The fellowship, which is based on academic excellence and need, is open to both undergraduate and graduate students of color. The Hearst Fellow serves as an intern with PSI in the Washington, DC office of the Aspen Institute. Through this fellowship, PSI seeks to introduce a diverse group of students to issues and challenges affecting philanthropy, social enterprise, nonprofit organizations, and other actors in the social sector. Recipients may arrange with their colleges or universities to receive academic credit for this experience.

Equality California Comcast Summer Fellowship- Deadline: March 23. Equality California Institute, in partnership with the Comcast Foundation and the California LGBT Legislative Caucus, is sponsoring a four-week fellowship program for six undergrad students who have completed at least their first year of college/university studies. The fellows will be placed in a legislative office in Sacramento for four weeks and will be assigned several mentors to support the fellows' work. Fellows will have the opportunity to engage key leaders in various sectors of California's life and culture, receive training around "issues-based organization" and the factors/strategies influencing policy makers, and interact with leading state policy makers. Site visits and informal gatherings will be provided through the month-long program designed to build community and expand the fellows' leadership and support network.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholarships- Deadline: March 30. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to Latino undergraduate and graduate students, as well as related support services.

Raytheon Patriot Scholarship- Deadline: April 10. The Raytheon Patriot Scholarship will support U.S Army student veterans. This partnership will enable returning soldiers to pursue their education goals and position them for success in civilian professions.

Google Policy Fellowship- Deadline: March 20. The Google Policy Fellowship program offers students interested in Internet and technology policy the opportunity to spend the summer working on these issues at public interest organizations in. Google will provide a stipend of $7,500 USD for each Fellow for the summer. In order to participate in the program, you must be a student. Google defines a student as an individual enrolled in or accepted into an accredited institution including (but not necessarily limited to) colleges, universities, masters programs, PhD programs and undergraduate programs. Eligibility is based on enrollment in an accredited university by January 1, 2018.

Cognizant's Accelerate Diversity Scholarship Program- Deadline: March 31. This $5,000 scholarship program addresses the challenge that while the future has never looked brighter for STEM careers, there is evidence that these exciting careers are failing to attract and include all segments of our population. Students are eligible to submit an application for consideration if they are: Currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior at an accredited 4-year college or university (graduating between 2019 - 2020), enrolled as a STEM or Business major with a focus on pursuing a career in IT and related business services, able to demonstrated commitment to the value of diversity (see application requirements), and a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States. 
Other Notable Opportunities
Conservation Internship for Broadening Access (CIBA)- Deadline: March 15! CIBA aims to help diversify the field of museum conservation by opening wide opportunities for a diversity of early professionals considering a career in museum conservation. The principal purpose of the program is to: Introduce students from varied economic, cultural, social, and educational backgrounds to careers in museum conservation, Encourage these students to pursue advanced training in museum conservation, and Empower these students to bring new perspectives, ideas, and networks to the museum conservation positions and institutions they ultimately serve. To help defray living expenses during the tenure of their internship, CIBA interns will be offered a stipend of $600/week. A relocation travel allowance may also be included as part of the internship award.
