Loves About Brebeuf
What’s not to love at Brebeuf?  I love the flexibility that Brebeuf offers with classes which allows you to manage your time and prepares your for college. I also love how inclusive we are and how we want the best in everyone. Most importantly, I have made some of my best friends and shared some of my best memories here. I will be so sad to let it all go in May.
Future Plans
I hope to attend Indiana University or Purdue and major in biology to become an optometrist.

Random Facts
I had to play as a backup goalie this soccer season.
For this year’s soccer season, I wanted to score a header goal.  This Monday, I was lucky enough to score two header goals against Roncalli (Editor's note: It was a 4-1 Braves victory.)
My birthday is the 4th of July, and I share it with my Mom and Post Malone.
One of my best friends lives in Sweden.
What is your current favorite show or series on tv, Netflix, etc?
My favorite show is Friends because it makes me laugh and I want to live in New York City, go to a cute coffee shop, and have a great core group of friends when I am older.
So far, the best part of being a senior is....
Being able to get closer with my class has been one of the best parts so far. Since the school year has started, I feel like we have all grown closer together, more than before. I think part of the reason for that is because we have so many privileges and responsibilities as seniors. We all work well together as the leaders of Brebeuf. I also love being able to leave as one of our senior privileges.
What made you want to start Knitting Club...and how is it going?
Summer going into sophomore year I went to a summer camp where my camp counselor taught me how to knit hats and scarves, and she actually told me about how she started a knitting club at her school. I thought it was such a good idea to give back to the community, so I wanted to start one here. Last year was our first year and we donated the hats, scarves, and ear warmers we made to Circle City Relief. That is our goal again this year to help people around the Indianapolis Community!
Where would you travel if time and money weren’t an issue?
I would love to travel to either Morocco, Egypt, or Italy. I love to experience other cultures and these places have rich cultures. They are located on the Mediterranean Sea which is beautiful and I hope to see one day.
What are some small things that make your day better?
A lot of things make my day better. The people that really know me, know that I always have a smile on my face, so obviously if someone made me laugh. Also going to soccer after school. I have made some of my closest friends on the soccer team and to be able to spend everyday with them after school makes my day a hundred times better. I also really enjoy our dance parties in the locker room and just being TOGETHER as a team.

Brebeuf Jesuit Students Host HBCU 101

Brebeuf Jesuit hosted a panel discussion focusing on historically black colleges and universities. The event was the vision of junior, Nikya Thomas, and was sponsored by the departments of Equity and Inclusion and College Counseling.
Panelists discussed the advantages and benefits of an HBCU education and their own personal experiences, whether as a HBCU student or as a parent. Senior Greg Coleman remarked, "I loved the fact that we had Brebeuf alumni, who are also HBCU alums, come back here and communicate their ideas, experiences and benefits of the culture and diversity of these institutions."
Other topics ranged from scholarships and admission requirements, to sorority and fraternity life. HBCUs were first created in the mid-1800's, with the goal of serving and educating African American students due to the overwhelming majority of predominantly white institutions of higher learning denying them enrollment during segregation. HBCUs are still committed to that legacy but have also evolved into some of the most diverse, inclusive, and prestigious colleges and universities in the United States.
