New Sermon Series Begins Sunday

Here's an idea for a New Year's resolution: commit to Sunday Worship in the New Year! January 7th - February 11th, we begin a new series:
Hope is Born! Now What?
Let's grow together in discipleship in 2018!

As we begin 2018 as a church family, we invite you to join us this Sunday to Reaffirm our Baptismal vows and Commission our new Lay Leaders.
Note to committee members and chairs: please make every effort to attend either the 8:30 or 10:45 service this Sunday, January 7th. Your church family wants to recognize, pray for, and commission you personally!

The Parkway Hills Beacons are planning to attend a Murder Mystery Dinner at Berry's Seafood in Florence on Monday evening, January 29th. Seating for the show begins at 6:30 pm, so let's plan to meet in the church parking lot at 5:30 pm and carpool to the restaurant. This parody tribute to America’s favorite sitcom senior citizens, the Golden Girls, is filled with their trademark sarcasm and zany antics. Our team may even win a prize if we help solve the mystery!

Tickets are $45 and include a 3-course dinner, tax, tip and a 2-hour show. The more the merrier, so plan to join us! To purchase tickets, CLICK HERE

Saturday,
January 20th,
is the second of four Quarterly Gatherings designed to help Dawn and Shawn Flowers get to know their new church family better. If you joined PHUMC in the last 6 to 10 years, you are invited to this second dinner. Dawn will have a taco bar set up in their home; you bring a side, dessert, or drinks to share. (If you are a visitor, please feel free to attend whichever gathering is most convenient for you.) Enjoy fellowship with your pastor and get to know your fellow members better during this casual "come and go" gathering between 6:00 and 10:00 pm on Saturday, January 20th.

Youth resumes for the new year this Sunday, January 7th at 5:00 pm with a meeting for both parents and youth. We have a lot to cover; including plans to attend The Gathering in February, Mission Fest in June, and Lake J/M28 Camp in July. Lots of amazing opportunities to help our youth develop a deeper understanding of how to welcome, grow, serve and celebrate!
