Notre Dame Summer Band Concert

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and sunglasses to enjoy a free concert. Led by the Notre Dame Band staff, they’ll perform a wide variety of music including marches, movie themes, classics, transcriptions and ND favorites. Family-friendly, all ages are welcome.

Film: “Racing Extinction” (2015)

The Office of Pre-College Programs presents this film, in which a team of artists and activists expose the hidden world of extinction. Professors Laura Kloepper, Matthew Ravosa and Gary Lamberti will serve as panelists to discuss the film and the impacts of extinction on our planet.

July Thrive! Lunch Pairings

Thrive! is offering the next quarterly round of lunch pairings. Sign up by 5 p.m. Friday, June 28, and Thrive! will randomly pair you with a lunch partner from a different division. You and your partner will schedule your own date, time and location. Everyone is welcome to participate. Please visit this link to register or for more information. Apply by July 1 for Fred Freeman Scholarship

If you’ve thought about going back to school, taking a course or completing a certification, you should consider applying for the Fred Freeman Staff Scholarship. It awards up to $2,000 in educational expenses per semester to eligible Notre Dame non-exempt staff. Apply by Monday, July 1. Learn more about the Fred Freeman Staff Scholarship.

Coming Soon: Circle Drive Behind Main Building to be Closed July 8-20

The circle drive north of the Main Building (Sorin Drive) will be closed for two weeks, beginning Monday, July 8. The planned closure is due to utilities work that must be completed in preparation for the Brownson Hall Replacement Project.

Tech Upgrades and Service Interruptions

Sakai Media Gallery Tool (Kaltura) and Media Space to Retire

The Kaltura (Sakai Media Gallery tool) and Media Space service will be retired on Sunday, June 30. Panopto is the replacement service for Kaltura, and is available now. OIT system administrators have migrated all Kaltura content to Panopto. If you have any questions, please contact the OIT Help Desk at 574-631-8111, oithelp@nd.edu or chat online at help.nd.edu.  

U.S. Senior Open

Be Prepared for U.S. Senior Open’s Effect on Campus

The 40th annual U.S. Senior Open (USSO) will take place Monday, June 24, through Sunday, June 30, at the Warren Golf Course, north of campus off Douglas Road. Read about how campus parking and Douglas Road, a major artery to and from campus, will be impacted. Please click on the above links to familiarize yourself with the parking lots affected and the days that Douglas Road will be closed between White Field and Ironwood.
We hope you have the opportunity to welcome new visitors to the University, and please consider taking in some of the excitement at Warren. 

Military Appreciation Ceremony at the U.S. Senior Open

Faculty and staff, join us during your lunch hour on Monday for a special Military Appreciation Ceremony. Father Jenkins will welcome fans to the U.S. Senior Open with an invocation, followed by remarks from Mike Butz, senior managing director at the USGA, and Capt. Mark A. Prokopius, commanding officer of the Notre Dame NROTC unit. The ceremony concludes with a color guard presentation and the Great Lakes Band playing the national anthem. Remember, the University’s clear bag policy applies.

Faculty and staff, if time allows, please consider attending Monday’s practice round free of charge after the tribute. Your ND employee ID will be required to permit complimentary access onto the Warren Golf Course to attend the ceremony.

Café de Grasta and Decio Café will begin using OZZI reusable containers beginning Monday, July 1.

Sakai Tip: Combine Duplicate Sakai Sites for Fall Courses

If you are teaching multiple sections of the same course, combine all those Sakai course sites into one new site, called a “super-section.” This new site will be the only place where you need to upload files, create announcements and post grades. Students can be sorted by section.
