The Seton Hall College of Nursing Newsletter |
Dear College of Nursing Community,
On June 15, I will mark three years serving as Interim Dean of the College of Nursing. It has been a true honor and privilege to work alongside our outstanding team as we support and guide our undergraduate and graduate nursing students as they prepare to launch and advance their professional careers. As we continue addressing the nationwide nursing shortage, the College of Nursing remains steadfast in its commitment to educating the next generation of nurses and nursing faculty through our undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs.
As you will read in this newsletter, the role of our preceptors remains a central theme. Our alumni continue to play a vital role in shaping the future of nursing through their dedication as preceptors, mentors and community partners. By welcoming our students into clinical practice settings and sharing their expertise, they provide invaluable guidance that strengthens both student learning and patient care across our communities.

This academic year also marked a significant milestone for the College, as we celebrated the largest graduating class from our traditional undergraduate and A.B.S.N. programs, with 170 students completing their degrees. This achievement reflects the dedication of our faculty, students, alumni and clinical partners who collectively support excellence in nursing education and the continued advancement of the profession.
Our online M.S.N. programs continue to earn recognition for their excellence, maintaining strong rankings that reflect the quality of our faculty, innovative curriculum and commitment to preparing advanced practice nurses and healthcare leaders. These distinctions highlight the dedication of our students, alumni and faculty in advancing professional nursing education and meeting the evolving needs of health care.
We are also proud to recognize our faculty members honored at the University’s Annual Celebration of Faculty Excellence, including Nancy Innella, Researcher of the Year; Patricia Pappas, Teacher of the Year; Munira Wells, Excellence in Service-Learning; and Michelle Davide, Adjunct of the Year. In addition, Diane Logan, clinical assistant professor in the Undergraduate Department, was honored as a Diva at NJSNA and ION’s Diva and Don Gala in April.
I wish all of you a wonderful and blessed summer season. We look forward to another year of exciting accomplishments at the College of Nursing. Please keep in touch so we can continue celebrating your achievements as our True Blue Nurses!
